Sanders won't be able to outbox Lewis for sure but he would have a better than average chance to blitz and KO Lewis. Lewis had a tendency of getting sloppy in the fights (McCall, Briggs, Mavrovich, Rahman) and Sanders would make him pay for these mistakes.

Lewis never had balls to fight any lefty. So we must conclude that in his mind Sanders easily wins.

To be honest I think McCall would've beaten Sanders. His chin would be too good and Sanders fades.

He would have a chance early after that Lennox would have started breaking him down.

 SANDERS fought ROCK while injured . And did much better then LL did in his first encounter ! SANDERS was a danger to anyone for the first couple of rounds . Im fact he did better then LL against VITALY for the first three rounds . SANDERS would have been a stylistic nightmare for LL .:deal

Sanders was exciting. I'd rather watch a replay of one of his fights than any of Hopkins fights, live or otherwise.

Sanders gets overrated as hell. He was like a HW Zab Judah. Dangerous in the early going due to his power and speed, but not much beyond that when facing world class opposition (although Zab did have some meaningful wins in the latter rounds). It's not like Sanders was some really skilled fighter.

He caught lightning in a bottle when he took out Wladimir. He wasn't likely to beat any other top HWs around.

had they met around 2003 or early 2004, shortly after Sanders had sparked Wlad, it might have been a dangerous proposition for Lewis.. But on an average day, when Lewis was prime, it'd probably be a mismatch.

I don't think so. I mean Sanders would have a punchers change but that is it. Sanders was not a very skilled fighter. He just had punching power. Sanders get to much credit beating Wlad. Wlad is just not that good he just learned the jab and grab style to protect his weak chin.

yeh he could have but Lewis would have to turn up untrained and unclimatised ala the Rahman fight for that to happen.

Maybe Lewis circa 2012. Over even the fat old version that ripped Vitali's face off. Prime Lewis? Not a chance.
