Does any version of Spinks have any chance against Tyson, or was Tyson just too big and strong for him? I mean, look at what happened in the clinches in their fight.

He'd probably be able to beat him within 45 minutes of losing to Douglas.

Maybe if he got Mike after one of his 24 hour Las Vegas parties. Otherwise, no.

    WHAT CLINCHES?

The whole debacle lasted less than 2 minutes.

Can we have a thread about the tenth round in February 1990 Tokyo instead?

I mean it isn't that hard to work out. It is where a myth was completely destroyed, a bit like Jack and the beanstalk.

"Shot Tyson " was nothing close to Iron Mike. He was a boken man, not to be confused with the ATG who faced Spinks. Danny Williams or Kevin McBride were never in Spinks league.

Spinks was pretty psyched out against Tyson. You can't let Tyson know that or you will never beat him.

A fighter in good shape giving a guy like Tyson the impression he has too much respect or is less than in a 100% determined and defiant mood and even a badly out of shape Tyson will run all over him.

Patterson v Liston all over again.

Spinks was just not that strong at heavyweight for Tyson. Bad style match up for him too.
