Could Spinks ever beat Tyson?

Its doubtful.. But given that he didn't even really try in their actual meeting, one can't get an actual gauge of what his chances would be.

Ironically enough, Tyson knocked out Botha with pretty much the same punch he sparked Spinks with.

I think extremely high of Spinks, he's an ATG and one of the best LHWs ever, but their peak weights are 40-45 lbs apart.

To be fair i think if in 1999 Tysons tune up would have been against Larry Holmes insted of Botha i think holmes would have beaten him.

I'd give spinks a serious chance of beating the Tyson of 96/97 I'm pretty sure the Holmes of the two spinks fights beats that Tyson .

Spinks not even trying in their actual fight makes things hard to gauge. But beating Holmes is nothing to scoff at, even if it was somewhat of a lethargic Holmes.

I'd guess maybe 96 Tyson. Almost definitely the Tyson that was getting his head boxed off by ****ing Botha.
