Could Spinks have boiled down to super middle to fight RJJ

    So did Monzon. Had many early morning weigh ins and fought 8 hours plus after . He was a HUGE middle and as you know you start putting a pound or 2 even more heading into your 30' s . Monzon often had to spar and run up to weigh ins to make the weight. And had only the day to recover. His ring weight was 169 pounds vs Napoles. I agree that Spinks makes the weight and recovers no problem

    I don't think it would have worked out favorably for Spinks to come down to that. I think losing that weight would have weakened him and given Roy an advantage.

    That's the only way Roy would beat him in my opinion. At Lt. Heavy, Spinks KO's Jones. There was a time long ago I would have favored Jones over almost anybody, but now there are question marks.

    why? they could have fought at 175
