Not his best weight, for Leonard.
Nigel Benn improved dramatically at this weight. I'd be intrigued to see this fight.
    Who win s iyo??

I’m not particularly a fan of Leonard but I think he takes this one by decision. He might have climb off the canvas to do it though like the Lalonde fight. He fought twice at 12 stone against Hearns and Lalonde. Can’t remember what weight he was for Duran 3. He was put down twice by Hearns and once by Lalonde and badly shaken in the ninth and final round but neither Hearns or Lalonde could finish him. Benn could hurt and probably knock him down but Leonard survives and wins too many rounds with his jab and movement. He might have a chance at hurting Benn but Benn was usually more dangerous when hurt so Leonard on points.

Leonard would never fight the dark destroyer at 168 pounds, if he did he loses badly

Benn was a bit wild for a smooth customer like Leonard. Still, Benn had that punch and he wasn't afraid to let them fly. Not sure tbh.

I think so. The Leonard that fought in 1989 against Hearns the second time. As long as he didn't get brave.
I like Nigel. Heart of a lion and good puncher, but Thulani 'Sugarboy' Malinga outboxed Benn twice. (Yes, I think Benn was darn lucky to get the decision in the first fight)
Malinga was cagey and tough, but not as good as a faded Leonard.

    In their primes?
Leonard at his best beats Benn at super middle. Was Ray better than Mauro Galvano? Yeah.
Of course, it's not a certainly, but if Benn hurts Ray, Leonard regroups and hurts him more. Ray had a better chin and at his best, was better than Nigel for sure.
    Levels.

Leonard wins easily. Benn was a very exciting fighter, but he's also quite overrated by some. Usually the Brits.
I see the fight as Leonard being smart enough to keep his distance the 1st 4-5 avoiding the telegraphed punches of Benn, taking him into the deeper water, drowning him between the 9th and 11th rd.
Leonard between 1987 and 1989 would still be more than Benn could handle though he was past his prime and best fighting weight.

I love Leonard but not sure .. Benn much the larger man, a murderour puncher and extremely fast and fast starting ...

Exactly what Leonard would be prepared for. Like I said I ain’t a fan of Leonard’s but I credit him for not being a fool. He doesn’t trade with Benn but slowly picks him apart. Probably a decision but maybe a late stoppage for Leonard.

im not sold that a mid thirties Leonard would have the strength, speed or stamina to hold Benn off ...

I'm of the same mind. I like the younger, harder hitting Benn to smash Ray up. I think Benn s got a great chance of stopping him inside the distance.
