The first fight was a pick'n fight and I was on the fence and leaned toward Taylor and Pavlik proof to be the better man...now here we are on the rematch, that could be Taylors last hurrah...a lost and he is just a note in the MW long tradition of long lasting champs..or he could revindicate himself and win the fight....

Agains this is another pick'n fight and possibly could be the set up for a great trilogy ala the greats MW of the mid 50's......

Who has the advantage, well, Taylor knows he can hurt Pavlik and Pavliks knows he can hurt JT, the question is who will ahve the advantage..take the unessesary pushes that JT threw on the fight, his lack of a concsied attack to finish Pavlik cost him dearly....

Pavlik showed incredible grit and heart...but he is hittable and he was hurt by JT....

I'm taking Pavlik by KO once again. This time, I'm predicting the 6th instead of the 7th.

That's a bold prediciton, this fight is going to be tight...I have the filling....JT ..we will see what he is made off on this fight...he needs to be more economical stick to his jab and pop Pavlik and let the fight come to him, don;t get in stupid exhanges...but use his speed and take advantage of the jab he hardly used ont eh first fight when it became personal rather than boxing

I think Taylor gets this one. He is extremley determined and getting rid of Manny was the best thing for him. People are acting like the first fight wasnt close. I think this will be a damn good fight that goes the distance. But Im going with boy JT.

You make some good points - except I would also add that Pavlik knows he can knock out JT, and JT knows Pavlik can knock him out.

This fight should prove the championship calibre of one - or both men.

Pavlik has the advantage. Pavlik by repeat KO.

I think Pavlik is too dumb to lose. What I mean is that I don't think he can tell when he is hurt. After watching the Countdown on HBO, I didn't realize how "cute" he was getting during the 2nd round knockdown. You could hit the guy with a sledgehammer and his brain would say "Duh, I guess I should punch now."

    Pavlik rocks.

I'm surprised by the number of people who predict a decision for JT. Taylor cannot box with Kelly Pavlik for 10 rounds, let alone 12! He tried that in rounds 4, 5, and 6 of the first fight and got KTFO in the 7th. Taylor can win ROUNDS by boxing, but he cannot win the fight that way. Pavlik will land that stiff ass jab, and follow it up with monster right hands over, and over, and over. The accumulation of punches would take it's toll, and JT ends up slumped in the corner again. Taylor's only real shot at victory is to make the fight a brawl on the inside, and try to end it EARLY. Against kelly pavlik that is no easy task. Pavlik is one tough son of a *****, and not at all adverse to roughing a guy up inside. Moreover, in order to fight inside you have to be able to get in and stay in the pocket, and that is something Pavlik is pretty good at preventing. Pavlik KO5 Taylor. I predicted an 8th round KO for the first fight, and Pav got him in 7:deal

I don't think Pavlik should have taken this fight at a catchweight & I have a feeling he'll pay for it.

I'm intrigued elaborate please. I had the idea that the added weight would serve Pavlik well.

Well it was Taylor who insisted on the catchweight because he was struggling to make 160. Not to take anything away from Pavlik's win but I do feel Taylor may have been drained at the weight a bit. Taylor should be stronger at 166 & I feel he will benefit more from the extra weight than Pavlik. I assume you feel differently?

Taylor has always fought to his opponents level, particuarlary against the 3 junior middleweights he fought. (Wright, Ohma, Spinks) Taylor is a talented skilled fighter, but his mental strength is very weak and so is his self-confidence. I think Taylor could beat Pavlik, but he will have digg real deep and fight a smart fight while being confident.

Well I heard rumours about Taylor draining and I also thought it was a bit odd that Taylor couldn't finish Pavlik off. I guess you could be right that the extra weight could turn out to benefit Taylor. If he has extra stamina he might be able to focus better and "examine" Pavliks (seeming) lack of defense in a more efficient matter.
