Could Terence Crawford possibly be the heir to Mayweather's pound-for-pound throne?

The day has come where I finally agree with Larry Merchant. Well said, Larry!

Crawford is going to be the successful fighter this board will hate on for years.

I think he could be the real deal. He reminds me more of a Roy Jones or Ezzard Charles than a Mayweather. That cool confidence that he can take his man out anytime he wants.

Poll doesn't have a No option so didn't vote. He just waits for his opponents to tire out and takes flush shots in the meantime. Matthysse takes him imo.

Crawford will make the first defence of his WBO junior welterweight title against Dierry Jean in October. Solid opponent, but not quite on the level of the soon to be great Terence.

Crawford should easily win a wide UD over Jean.

Not sold on Crawford there's good and bad. He can switch up, he has a decent skillset and he has dog in him. He gets hit more than he should with his skillset and we've yet to see him against another physical specimen (Gamboa is a tiny guy out of his weightclass so no). At LWW, Matthysse is the man. I think Matthysse hurts him bad. Also Lamont (should he stay at the weight) would give Crawford problems. Don't see it yet. And as a "potential "superstar, he has no real personality.

I'd like to see him fight Broner for exactly the opposite reason. I think HE tears Broner up.

    Crawford is nothing like Mayweather.
