If Warren carries on making these statements about Haye and Macca in the tabloid press, aimed at the non-boxing fan...

... and if Froch's promoter continues trying to associate Carl Froch's name with that of Joe and if Froch becomes WBC mandatory by beating Inkin in the eliminator...

...could the average British sportsfan, who doesn't know much about boxing, think that Joe Calzaghe should be fighting Froch instead of someone else and that Haye should be fighting Macca, and if they won't, they would both be ducking "their man"?

Teh average punter Knows Calzaghe is the Daddy but wonlt have heard of Froch so no. However, as Neither Mcarinnell or Haye are household names, I think if Warren thrown enough mud, it could stick...

Think you might be right...still, Froch gets a hell of a lot more press than other contenders/world class British fighters...in the tabloid press, his importance and quality is blown out of all proportion...many people might think he is better than Kessler, who was also unknown to the average punter...

Yes, to Haye ducking Mac but no to JC ducking Froch. Pretty much for the reasons above.

That's because Froch is a Forest fan which automatically elevates him to greatness.

I have seen some very pro-Froch articles in The Sun ALREADY...the kind you would have thought were payed for with good money...

    http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/boxing/article434043.ece

    http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/boxing/article449240.ece

Just imagine the kind of stuff they'd print if Froch became mandatory to Joe's WBC belt...

unfortunaltely, your average punta will believe whatever the sun tells em!
if you want proof of how 'knowledgable' your non specific boxing fan is, try reading the boxing forums on bbc.co.uk/606. laughable..

if you read those articles you will see there is not a single line of analysis by the author`s, there are just froch sounding off and no editiorial comment is given at all.

    most probably reuters articles.

You are right, but with The Sun, it's all in the headlines, isn't it? It's not like people ever look for an argument/analysis in the Sun...

Remember "Up Yours, Delors"? No one ever remembers what that was all about...except that it was two fingers to the EU!

The Sun is just adding to the hype with those titles...no?

It doesn't matter. Neither of the two will happen. And it doesn't matter what the average bloke in the street thinks about it either.

Both could happen really, the press are building Froch upto be a proven superstar, when infact hes faced nobody yet. Macca-Haye is ridiculous, most will believe Haye is ducking Macca. But in reality, look who both guys fought last and i think its obvious whos ducking the 'real' challenges;)

If Joe would beat Froch easily why doesnt he do it and take an easy pay day?
Fact is JC cold have faught Froch but instead went for formidable opponents like Ashira, Bika and Manfredo.
Why has warren tried on several occations to sign Froch????
Both fighters who are being ducked are both Warren Fighters??????
Maybe its because Joe has faught many fighters who are nowhere near as good as foch

The sad thing is, yes, the average fan will read this trash & think Haye & Joe ducked......They will especially think Haye ducked because he is lesser known, therefore less is known on what he says/does to the casual ignorant fan.
