Could the first round of Mayweather vs Pacquaio be like Hagler vs Hearns?

If you go into any fight with an expectation of Hagler vs Hearns, you'll just be repeatedly disappointed.

No chance. It's not going to be a thrilling fight. It's going to be one for the purists. I bet a lot of people are disappointed after this fight.

 

Not a chance in hell. Those two absolutely hated each other going into that fight. That fight wasn't about boxing. It was about proving "who was more man" than the other guy.

You'll never see something like that again. Greatest 3 rounds in boxing history. Just IMO.

 

Doubtful. I think the first round of this fight will be a lot of feinting, some range finding jabs from both, then a lead left landed for pac....and a lead right landed for Floyd. That's about it.

 

I think eventually this fight will fire up though. Every fighter Floyd has faced in the recent years has either got him against the ropes at times, or Floyd has stood toe to toe with. Pacquiao is better than all of them, with faster feet. Floyd's gonna have to fight in this one.
