Any merit to all of this being an elaborate sham?

    Wilder-AJ, AJ-Ortiz, Wilder-Parker, Parker-Ortiz makes more.

That's why the guy who wrote the article and fixed fights on a journeyman level never got beyond that.

He was just always looking for a way to cash out with a guy who never had talent (or used to and didn't anymore).

I didnt know any of that because I never read any of this guys stuff and never intend to again. It was quite clear he was very biased against Wilder after the first few sentences. Wilder the worst heavyweight champ ever? Whats that say about Stiverne?

My wrench in his argument is that if Wilder wins hes not necessarily guaranteed next in line for Joshua. Hearn and co may try to throw the Whyte excuse out there

This whole thing about why would he suddenly step up to fight Ortiz with the aj fight looming well maybe just maybe because Ortiz is signed to al haymon, haymon has a history a very long history of making his fighters fight eachover.

He's a guy who fixed fights on the journeymen midwest circuit, and wasn't very good at it even when he tried.

He even talks about wanting to get out of boxing after he watched Martin Foster get knocked out by Frans Botha (who he apparently didn't know hit hard). He said he was so shocked by how badly Martin was hurt he wanted no part of the business anymore.

Yet he admits when the promoter gave him Foster's purse, he (the writer) kept it all. His fighter was so injured, it scarred the writer. But apparently not enough to pay the fighter.

    The worst of the worst.

Boxing is fixed, that is not news, but I think the fix in this match was VADA Testing. The author is right, Wilder can't box, but he can FIGHT. Young George Foreman couldn't box a lick either, and as I have said, Wilder reminds me of young George. Old George was crafty, but I would have taken Wilder to beat young George.

What Wilder can do is put 230+ pound guys on their backs with one punch. That, in and of itself is a great skill to have.

Wilder is what CEJ would be if he was, say 6'3 with Kovalev's power and long arms.

Thought provoking if you're managing bums and you're just looking to get out of managing them. (Which is his experience.)

It's not thought provoking if you are handling the top heavyweights.

On the contrary. Don King didn't fix fights. Don King loved it when there was an upset or a close fight, because he always said "We can do it again! If the public wants it, let's do it again!" King said those types of fights (rematches after a close or controversial fight) sold themselves.

Having one guy take a dive doesn't do anything but remove that fighter from the scene.

When guys like Frankie Randall upset Chavez, King ate that up. Then he could put a rematch on PPV. He could put Randall in with other champs like Coggi and sell that.

Haymon has Wilder and Ortiz. The best case scenario for Haymon is if they fight a classic and he has two guys he can match on PPV in a return and against others down the road.

Having one guy purposely fall down early doesn't get you that.

If all of these dudes are acting, you're going to see a lot of heavyweights moving to Hollywood.
