Well im not blaming dawson but rather the referee because he should have got a dr in before he stopped the fight and it wasn't clear when he stopped the fight and what he was doing tbh

    Load of bs!

What judges? This hasn't been reviewed yet; it was the ref's discretion alone and he didn't view anything. It will be by the commission, and I'm sure it will be overturned.

How did Hopkins go down on his own?

Forget if he was acting but there isnt any doubt him being on the canvas was due to a move from Dawson

Man I hope the donaire/PAC/cotto fights help boxing end the year a bit better sick of this rubbish staying up all night for nothing!

"Results will be graded based on the official result at ringside. Results are not official for wagering purposes until verified by officials at the fighting venue. Official or unofficial sanctioning body overturns of a fight decision based on appeal, suspension, lawsuit, drug testing result, or any other fighter sanction will not be recognized for wagering purposes."

    Looks like I lost $500 on a referee's ignorance.

Oh well, **** this **** im going to bed.

Hopkins seemed to be pushing down and putting his weight on Dawson's upper back so he was simply pushed off and rightly so. I do think the shoulder injury is legit though because I have had my own shoulder separated from a jolt at the elbow

The decision should have been a Referee technical decision (RTD), which is a term used in boxing when a fight ends because a fighter refuses to continue

it could be overturned but it shouldn't be. The judges will make their case to the commission and it hopefully will be upheld

WHICH JUDGES? You're posting about this mysterious collective in every thread, but the judgment came from the ref and the ref alone.

He jumped onto Dawson's back. Either they were both going down, or Hopkins was going down. Both results would have been Hopkin's fault.

Unless you think Dawson should have given Hopkins a free piggy-back ride around the ring?

If you jump onto someone, you lose almost all control over your balance. So if you end up on your ass, or your head, you only have yourself to blame.

The result should definitely be changed to a no-contest. Hopkins went down from a shove. I don't think Chad Dawson did anything majorly wrong, but it wasn't a punch that caused the injury, rather it was the Dawson push. Now, whether or not Hopkins is really injured, I don't know. He did fall on his shoulder and it looked legitimate to me. Could the result be overturned? I think it could. Will it? I have no idea, but I sure hope it does. Either way, I think Bernard Hopkins should retire. He is a great fighter even at 46, but he really has nothing more to prove.

    From another thread:
You can see it on the top-down view. Dawson ducks under the punch and then pushes forward into Hopkins' midsection, thus INITIATING the contact where Bernard ends up "climbed all over his back".
