Their ratings are transparent. They do not have interim, ordinary or super champs. They have some dodgy title holders, but on the whole they are not bad compared to the antics of the big 4.
It's true. Wladimir has more prestigious belts but hangs onto this one. Lends cred. The p4p man held it not long ago at LWW. More cred. They could become the fifth as much as people dread it. But they all eventually tend to go the way of ugliness.
Possible but they would need all the top fighters to legitimize them over a period of years. The more IBO world title fights you see on the big PPV events would add more credibility.
It would take years to even move into the top 4....let alone be the best. However their are some things to like about the IBO and the ratings system is the best thing they have going :good You wont see any other top 4 rating another ABC fighter in front of theirs :deal
I've noticed a trend of top fighters making an effort to hang onto their IBO belts. So they must be doing something right, and seem to have established themselves as a fighter friendly organisation. But we don't need more alphabetty's handing out belts, there are too many already, and they are all pretty rubbish in terms of rankings, creating fictitious accolades (super champ, interim champ etc.) and giving random people title shots.
I wouldn't mind the oft-ridiculous rankings without the multiple "champions" in the same division from the same alphabet organization - e.g. the WBA has a Featherweight "Super champion" Chris John, and a Featherweight World Champion Yuriorkis Gamboa. I don't mind the random title shots either as long as they aren't for a vacant title. They still have to beat a beltholder to win.
