Could there be a more true champion than Dillian Whyte in boxing right now?

By no means am I saying he's the best, not even in his division (although he must now be one of them).

But you've really got to give big props to him, he isn't lying when he says he fights all comers, I believe him, he will fight anyone, like a true champion should do. I really don't think anyone else would have taken the risk he did last night (fighting a major contender in the division when he was already overdue a title shot).

If he shocks the world and takes a belt/belts off of one of the two champions then everybody will have to take their hats off to someone who has earned it the hard way

The issue is that he is not dominant. He scraps and slugs when he does not have to and therefore could lose at any time.

That kills longevity and accelerates a decline in an athlete.

He'll fight anyone but Ortiz and doesn't want anything to do with a chisora rematch.

You brits are a bunch of stupid hyperbolic morons.

Whyte and Chisora are a special breed they have the heart of 2 lions, each. Im a Brit and their dogged determination makes me proud as hell. They have the heart of worthy champions. Just not the skill level.

I am, but I don't see what it has to do with anything I'm saying. I don't even like Dillian Whyte, I didn't care if he won, I think he's horrible.

Haha we're stupid and hyperbolic, now that is what I'd call irony.

    You strike me as bitter

Why on earth would he want a Chisora rematch? Catch a grip of yourself, his decision against him was contentious, it may have been fair, may have went the other way...but having moved onto beating Joseph Parker, and have fights like that available to him, why is he going to stunt his progress by stepping back down to British domestic level for a Chisora rematch? Come on now. Don't call somebody stupid and then come out with drivel like that.

As for the Ortiz comment, what, he ducked Ortiz to take Parker? That what you're saying? They're much of a muchness for * sake. Both would have been equally risky opponents to take on when he could have gone and had a tomato can in 2 rounds and still been overdue a title shot. I know I certainly didn't fancy him to beat Joseph Parker.

Get him in with Wilder and I think he has a big chance now. It'd be great to see Wilder fight somebody, since he likes to talk about doing it so much. Stupid, hyperbolic Brits indeed :roflmao:

I'll put a similar question to you. Is Pulev any more of a risk than Parker?

From what ive been hearing Hearn has told Whyte to forget about Pulev, its a pointless fight cuz the WBC will still fiddle with his world ranking and the WBC will just overlook him in favour of people they want to face Wilder as a mandatory. Hearn said earn some money, prove your worth to the people rather than the WBC and you have more power to try to push for big fights with the likes of Wilder anyway through peer pressure.

Ive not heard those words out of Hearns mouth but this is what ive heard Hearn allude to and a couple of other things ive heard here and there. But he knows the WBC aint doing **** for Dillian or other worthy fighters.

Ducked the Chisora rematch. Ducked Ortiz, a fight where he could have actually become Wilder's mandatory. The Pulev fight...maybe he felt he might get shafted on the cards in Bulgaria, though I suspect a warrior with the heart of a lion might not care.

Parker is a good win for Dillian but please don't make out like he's some Usyk type road warrior.

It was a very risky fight to take, both Parker and Whyte should be commended for putting it all on the line in a very competitive fight.

But let's not go overboard, before this Whyte had beaten who? Scraped by Chisora, beat up a fat, shot Aussie in Browne. Hardly the most scintillating resume.

But Whyte has proven himself now, no way you can deny that he isn't a top 5 heavyweight right now.

    Joshua
    Wilder
    Povetkin
    Ortiz
    Whyte

That's my top 5 right now and I think it's a solid top 5, nobody else really has a claim to being top 5 but these guys in my opinion. Though if Fury can beat a decent name and looks more like his old self then Fury breaks into the top 5 for sure.

Whyte is eager to fight anyone, he's brave and I give him props for that.

He's very limited though and he already had few extremely hard bouts so he can end like Danny Williams.
