"A confidential source who wishes to remain anonymous at this moment in time has let it be known to me that boxing fans should not be fooled by Floyd Mayweathers recent interest in fighting Manny Pacquiao on May 5th. One of the many capital groups that was approached to guarantee Floyd Mayweathers purse for a May 5th bout, has mentioned that no MOU (Memorandum of understanding), which serves a precursor for a fight contract was ever submitted for a Mayweather-Pacquiao fight on May 5th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, NV. However one has been submitted for a Mayweather-Cotto fight, and a Mayweather-Guerrero fight. There is evidence that both Robert Guerrero, Floyd Mayweather, a representative from the MGM Grand, and HBO had signed a MOU regarding a Guerrero-Mayweather bout on May 5th at the MGM Grand. Although it was signed, it seems to have been disregarded, since many boxing fans showed immediate disinterest in the mismatch. Needless to say there appears to be evidence that the Mayweather-Guerrero fight was actually being explored at one moment in time regardless of what Mayweather or Golden Boy Promotions says. Whether Floyd called Manny out via twitter with no intentions of fighting him on May 5th just to appease boxing fans and the Las Vegas judicial system or did so to restart the soap opera that has carried on for two plus years with intentions of making the fight happen in November 2012 remains to be seen. One thing is clear, Mayweather-Pacquiao is very doubtful for May 5th 2012." ...over at the site that talks boxing, scroll down to Mcrumor Mill section Interesting, would explain why Guerrero tried desperately to justify the fight in the media and claimed Floyd was ducking him.
Didn;t say he was, Guerrero did and this could be why, if he did think he was going to fight Floyd and then they reneged on that plan because of the backlash,.
verrry interesting. but it's just a rumor and I'm always wary of 'an anonymous source'. that said, I wouldn't put it past Floyd to do something like this.
Don’t think he’s pissed at him. He’s just a dick crying for attention. He definitely was a serious candidate at one point, but right now, he’s just name-dropping Floyd to keep his name in circulating in the media. Was kind of hoping he'd get picked, just to see him get ruined. Anyhow, despite it being obvious May 5th was never intended for Pac, I still wouldn't take the above too seriously. "A confidential source who wishes to remain anonymous".
Yep, and I haven't heard it mentioned anywhere else. I don't know if the writer himself wrote it or if he's just passing on that statement as a rumor, I'm not familiar with his blog. He has his email listed maybe email him to find out Good thing is, if there is any truth to it, that Cotto could be a serious option for Floyd
i agree. i know the guy wants a pay day...and would even be all for it if they werent 2 divisions apart...but then again, so was JMM when he was chosen...and he was really 3-4 divisions smaller considering he was barley a lightweight with 2 fights there
To be fair, though, it's not like Mayweather himself is a huge welterweight that utilizes size and power to beat opponents. I know Guerrero is a lightweight, but, on the night I can't see there being that much of a difference between the two. Floyd would beat the **** out of him because he's 10x the better boxer, not because he's 'bigger'. But yeah, considering Guerrero hasn't done anything worth of note, he's not an ideal person to pick.
We had enough bull**** from Arum and Floyd, We don't need more confidential stuff. Emails and bull****. If that's true then Floyd can be sued again for breach of contract if they discard that. With all that said, That is most probably fake.
I always thought this...Floyd was gonna fight Robert, and we all went crazy on the internet, and the next day Floyd started calling out Pacman cuz his other options were horrible..Cotto=Leftover, Canelo=too young...I knew all of this as it was playing out
Don't look for Pac or Floyd to take much of a challenge in their next fights. Gotta keep the 'super fight' alive. :-(
Speak for Pac..Pac's career revolves around Floyd...fighting bums so he can remain unbeaten until Floydfight...Floyd's gonna fight whoever, cuz he thinks he's gonna win either way
Every day you clueless ****** *******s post lies to make yourselves feel better about your hero. Every ****ing day. So ****ing hilarious to read. Lie after lie. Opinion without facts. ****ing utterly disgraceful!
