Tubbs at his best was Sharp , fast hands, tight combination s ,he had a good slip and counter game actually. And he was mentally tougher than some think, showed that in the Greg Page Fight. I think he could definitely win rounds here. Klitschko was not hard to hit,he was just bloody hard to hurt. I see, if Tubbs remains disciplined, Klitschko winning by 7-5 or 8-4 , nothing much more than that.
He could, but probably wouldn't. Tubbs could be lazy inside and outside the ring. Vitali's height and awkward style would give him problems. However, Tubbs could be a slick counter puncher when firing on all cylinders and could give Vitali fits a la Byrd. The safer bet is Vitali overcoming an awkward clash of styles to take a points decision based on aggression and volume.
Um, no. I think the only time Vitali Klitschko was behind in a fight in his entire pro career was after round 1 of the Corrie Sanders bout. After round 2, he wasn't behind anymore. Tony Tubbs was a clever boxer. But Tubbs wasn't in his league and outboxing Vitali wasn't the way to beat him.
He was also behind on all 3 x judges scorecards after the first round vs Hide. A minor specific, not meant to detract from your underlying point.
Not likely. I don’t think his chin holds up. He had the handspeed and skill though. Should he had the stamina to go fifteen rounds too. Might actually not be as bad of a fight as people think.
Not likely. I respect Tubbs but Vitality had so much height, reach, volume, and power that I don’t see this ending well for Tubbs.
