Yes at 37 years of age... Who did Valuev fight at 37? Oh yeah he retired after having his clock cleaned by a 200 year old Holyfield
Please spare me the "he didn't train at all for Douglas" bull****, I've heard it a million times. Hell I've heard such rubbish that Tyson had to lose a few stone when there's videos of him walking around Japan prior to the fight looking surprisingly lean... Oh yeah, a persons prime is when he's on a winning streak. As soon as he loses he's automatically past his prime. You mention Bruno but conveniently forget to mention the fight prior to Douglas Tyson looked his devastating best knocking out Carl Williams.... So did Tyson slip out of his prime against Bruno and then jump back in it for Williams? Or is this just a way for you Tyson nuthuggers to sleep at night knowing your idol couldn't possibly be beat fair and square?
Ha! I'm just about done here. If they genuinely think Mike couldn't have beaten Valuev, even though that Ruslan etc could, then what's the point? Just clueless casuals.
How is it bull****? Look, you have to take responsibility for your own actions in life. And If Mike didn't train properly for the fight, then that was on him. If nobody has any sympathy, that's okay by me. But don't try and pretend that Mike was both physically and mentally at 100%, when he wasn't. We're not focusing solely on the weight, we're focusing on his conditioning etc. Greg Page had knocked him down in sparring. He was simply a different fighter to what he'd been previously before King came on the scene. Which you'd know, if you'd followed his career. What are you talking about, slipping back in and out of his prime? Grow up, and take in what I'm telling you. The Douglas fight was a huge shock, but he'd performed badly in the Bruno fight. He wasn't as sharp, he'd took shots he shouldn't have, and his team were concerned. Again, when King and the money came, and the dedication went, he was a different fighter. I don't believe that James would have beaten the versions of Mike who'd beaten the likes of Berbick and Spinks, when he was 100% focused, fighting to his full capabilities. Now what does any of this have to do with Valuev FFS?
I'm waiting for my tea to cook. But I have wondered to myself why I even bothered writing about Jacobs and Cayton etc. As if he knows who they are.
It's all bull**** excuse pure and simple.. Tyson was in great physical condition and if he wasn't up for the fight mentally he sure as hell would have been at the end of the first round and that is a fact!
