Nobody apart from Balder agrees with you Wass. Give it up, you are in a deluded minority of two and this constant back and forth is getting really boring and old. Believe what you want but please don't waste everybody's time pretending to know anything about boxing.
Just set up your own forum with Balder so you can perform mutual ego massaging sessions or whatever else you feel like doing. Peace.

You've got a funny way of showing it 'sunshine'! You're spouting forth enough manure to fertilize a whole continent. Please furnish us with more of your pearls of wisdom and dazzle us with your vast encyclopedic knowledge of boxing history.

We're not talking about Lewis and Rocky. We're talking about Mike and Valuev. Completely different fights. But Lewis was an exceptional big man, and Valuev wasn't. Also, Mike possessed different attributes to Rocky. Personally, I don't think Rocky would have beaten Lennox, but my opinion isn't based solely because of Rocky's size.

My favourite fighter of all time is Roy Jones. So let's take the version who fought Ruiz and put him against Valuev. Are you going to tell me that there's no way in the world that Roy could have won? If size was such a factor, Valuev would literally have been unbeatable. But we know that wasn't the case.

Why are you so obsessed with size?

A prime Mike would have been the aggressor throughout.

The likelihood is, Valuev would have fought to survive. Even if Mike couldn't have stopped him, he'd definitely have won on points in my opinion.

Go and watch the Holyfield fight. Valuev wasn't a great fighter. (no disrespect intended)

It doesn't appear so does it.

Not if you genuinely think that a Tyson vs Valuev fight would have been a sick mismatch.

Anyway, enough now. Magoo has just shut this thread down completely. So you might as well pack up your things and go home. Because I completely forgot about Ruslan Chagaev. He'd completely slipped my mind.

    Ruslan Chagaev:

    Height - 5'11

    Reach - 74"

    Weight - 228 pounds.

Valuev outweighed him by almost 100 pounds!

And the ironic thing is, his nickname was 'The White Tyson'

    Date: 14/4/07

    Result: MD for Chagaev.

Yet the real Tyson, who was practically the same size and weight as Chagaev, wouldn't have had a chance?

There's literally nothing you can say in response to what Magoo has wrote.

    This thread is finished.

    I'd completely forgot about Chagaev.

You've just put the final nail in the coffin of this thread.

Valuev showed that an absolutely massive HW with limited ability in all realms could dominate. A weak era helps, but he could have done about as well in many other times. He had a better record than say Carnera, uniquely muscular for his time, due to extreme size.

But let us say he was an average HW size for today-does anyone think he could have been even a serious contender?

I think pure intimidation played a part-he was so big with such a scary face that even though he did not hit that hard, & did not act menacing, some were less aggressive than they might otherwise be.

Prime Tyson would have little chance...
    Of losing to Valuev.

I can't believe this troll thread has spread to 8 ****ing pages!!!!....Prime Mike Tyson would put a god awful beating on Valuev to the point where you'd be hitting the change channel or off button because it would be such a cruel hammering.

Valuev would dance, stick and move all night, put on a master class of superior boxing, as he always did.

Valuev would let Tyson go the distance because Valuev is magnanimous.

Tyson is an American legend so Valuev would show mercy on the smaller man.
Valuev allows America to live and dream again.
