Could Usyk beating Fury and Joshua be the best wins in boxing history ?

Ali beating Foreman, Roy beating Toney, Ruiz and Hopkins, Bowe beating Holyfield, Duran beating Leonard, Douglas beating Tyson, Mayweather beating Pacquiao and Canelo, etc. You'd think Usyks resume would be in contention, but Usyk beat much taller guys 50 pounds heavier than him, one of them being an undefeated reigning champ. Isn't that Usyks ticket into goat status ?

I think they are very good wins, especially since he did it twice, so none of that 'he got lucky' bs.

That said, both Fury and AJ have their flaws as boxers, so 'best wins in history' is debatable to say the least.

Historically Usyk is never going to rank super high for "greatness" because you need a career for that. On the other hand if you are talking H2H skills, he might beat any heavy there ever was.

I don't think so, still great wins as they were the best of their era, but it was a very weak era, Fury went life and death with Ngannou, getting dropped and going the distance in the process, he'd also had 3 years of drug and alcohol abuse post-Klitschko, which further undermines the argument.

Joshua's career can be split into 2 categories: before and after the Ruiz fight. He just wasn't the same after that fight. Usyk's GOAT status is his CW career, where he cleaned up in dangerous opponents' backyards. He was already a legend before he moved up to heavyweight, he's just compounded it.

They aren't the best in boxing history, but they are in context special, and let's see what Fury and Joshua now go on to accomplish.

Not just what he did. it's HOW he did it. He did most of it without A-side favoritism, on the road against mostly elite and top operators.

Usyk beat Fury coming off the Ngannou fight. Usyk was supposed to embarass Fury not almost lose. At that moment in time AJ>Fury was the most clear it had ever been. And Usyk had beaten AJ twice.

It doesn't seem that way because the Brits heavily bet money on hometown fighters they don't expect to win.

The unique thing is he beat them both twice and also beat DDD twice who was arguably #3 of the group.

Very creditable wins but best in history? No.

If I had to rank them as the best duo wins in HW history they probably would be top 5. At worst, top 10.

Idk how that would compute on a p4p basis, but certainly pretty high given the size difference.

Odds were close for that fight. So I'm not sure what you're talking about. Fury has put in subpar showings before in fights he didn't take seriously. It's obvious he took the Usyk fights much more seriously than he did Ngannou.

They shouldn't have been. The people who were betting for Fury were betting for him out of nationalism not rational betting. You saw the same thing with Bruno v Tyson for example. The British always show up with money for their favorite son.

Still great wins. Fury is the #2 HW of this era after Usyk.

Theres probably like 10 guys who beat him. Same with AJ.

Tyson Fury is the reincarnation of John L Sullivan. Same story people think he was the 2nd best of his era he was so far from that.

You sure like being hyperbolic. This line makes you impossible to take seriously.
