First of all, calm down i'm not talking about Zelenov!.

I'm talking about 20 year old Light Welterweight Victor "Vicious" Ortiz from Oxnard, that will be fighting Colombian Carlos Maussa in the Undercard of Cotto vs Mosley (and if he wins he would be fighting another tough Colombian in Ricardo Torres).

Arum has been praising this kid, and really believes that he will be his next star, Vicious reminds him of Pavlik and Cotto when they were prospects.

Ortiz had a solid amateur pedigree. In 2003 he was both National Junior Olympic Champion (132 pounds) and National Pal Champion (132 pounds).

Could Vicious be Top Rank Inc. NEW STAR?

dog, he is far from what pavlik and cotto showed as up and comers......victor is alot quicker, more active and throws relentless combos all the time.....actually reminds me of when bojado first stepped on the scene, but lets see if victor takes his career serious, bojado just got spoon fed to quick in the boxing game...

Well he's stepping up his competition more quickly than Bojado.

    E. Clottey, Maussa and possibly Torres.

I hope this kid can do well, for the good of Boxing (a new exciting star is always welcome).

So you think Vicious will be another Bojado?

Actually he reminds more of Fernando Vargas, and the way he's stepping up.

NAH MAN, victor actually has something to live and fight for (his lil brother)...bojado just blasted on the scene with a million dollars already in his pocket.....victor's work ethic reminds me of juan diaz....but like i said, victor has to fight to survive, while bojado did it just cause he's been doing it for so long....

He looks like an exciting prospect, and that KO over Maximino was Brutal!

That should be a good test, and also I will like to see him fight Bojado.

I'VE always liked victor....it's weird cause here in southern cali, we get to see alot of these boxers grow up....i remember hearing alot about boxers here and there at gyms, next thing you know they're turning pro fighting on our local spanish stations...than after that, we got some world champions...ahhahaahah

some that come to mind that i have been hearing about ever since their ammeature careers are...

    oscar delahoya
    fernando vargas
    victor ortiz
    panchito bojado
    johnny tapia
    finito lopez
    julio and antonio diaz
shane mosley was very, very popular around here where im from...and all the mexicans loved him

those are the ones i remember.....i mean, i'm only 24 years old, but i clearly remember all these fighters being talked about at local gyms, fighting around my area.....watching their careers, and watching some of them turn to world champions......it's been great...here in southern cali, boxing is a bit part of life.....
