It's not impossible, but I wouldn't go far and say RJJ since there is no one like Jones in his prime to be honest.

Ward is being rushed with the Kessler fight, let's see how he does there. His team obviously think he's ready so I can't really say he's rushed unless it's proven in the ring by being one-sided.

Two things i worry about with Ward, he has a tendancy to drop his hands after punching and he goes straight back sometimes.

Ward is good and talented. But there is a HUGE difference between that and a prime Roy Jones Jr.

I hope not, Ward is the first Ward.
By fighting Kessler, That's a major step in the right direction.

Perhaps. and just the idea that we could say 'perhaps' is a huge cadeau to Ward. He really is VERY talented, but still has a lot to prove.

the lord broke the mold on rjj...hell even if ward became a poor man's rjj in his prime he'd have a solid career. ward is very talented and i really do look forward to what his future holds. this fight will not be a walk in the park for kess. ward can make some noise for sure.

Wards style reminds me more of Benard Hopkins, while Dirrel reminds of Jones.

Ward can't be the new Roy Jones, he's not waiting for Kessler and Froch to be stripped of their belts so he can fight for them against American journeymen :deal

On the flip side though, will Ward be just another overtated hypejob if he loses to Kessler?

He's intelligent but NOT talented, I disagree with some here .

He has neither chin nor power.

I think its a little too early to tell at this point. However, i find it hard to believe that someone could make a case that he certainly won't. The Kessler fight should give us a lot of answers to that question. I believe Ward will be the future of the Super Middleweight division At some point.

    Agreed.

Ward reminds me nothing about RJ. He's very fundamentally sound and basic.
