I been saying it all along he 's like a cross between jones and mayweather .Or flashes of them here and there .

Does he become the next roy or a mayweather? No but can he be right in between. I say yes .. If he wins the tourney he would be on his way for sure.

He's got the speed at times that reminds me of roy , he shoulder rolls similar to floyd so who knows who he'll mirror when its all said and done .

saturday was the first time i saw ward and he did remind me a little of a young roy -- fast but not as fast as roy. ward is obviously smart also as evidenced by his post fight interview. and humble too, he could go far

  3. preposterous. Andre is good to watch but he isn't in the class of roy jones.

Jones just controled the bout, looks like he's conducting everything that happens. so clean and beautiful.

watching the hanshaw bouts makes things interesting though

No. He's not as fast or as powerful, for one. Also, he uses range more than head movement to avoid getting hit - more like Hopkins.

There will only ever be one Roy Jones.

What ever you guys think.. Ward smashed Kessler.. He fought Kessler very tacital! Ward was so fast and skilled.. He made Kessler look so slow...

IMO Ward is allrdy better than prime hopkins.

I can't remember his exact words, but I loved what Ward said in the pre-fight piece about wanting to master his craft and have the ability to control every aspect of a fight. His dedication and his thinking process might get him very, very far.

But a new Roy Jones? Talentwise? Not even close.

He might, might be close to on a par with pre-prime Hopkins.

    Might.

ward is a very talented fighter no doubt, but a future RJJ he isn't. like some of the other posters said, those types of fighters come once in a life time.

The guy isn't even close to either Mayweather or Jones. Come on, I know people are desperate for a "hero," but give me a break.

Could he get there? I doubt it. Jones has other-worldly athleticism that Ward will never have. As far as PBF, when have you ever seen him reduced to headbutts and elbows, etc? He doesn't have to fight that way, and never has.
