Could Ward/Dirrell/Froch/Bute even make it the distance with a prime Roy Jones?

Froch would expose RJJ glass jaw, RJJ never fought anyone with the punch power of FRoch, instead ducking the Benns,Eubanks,McClennans and Calzaghes to fight civil servants.

It depends of the risks they take.

If they take the fight to Roy they all have a great chance of being stopped, if they play it safe they would probably all last the distance cause Roy didnt like taking chances either and would happily just coast to a boring one sided decision win.

I'm a Froch fan but his power is overrated and Jones Jnr would clown for 12 Rounds solid.

    Over Patriotism isn't cool.

If bums like Johnson, Tarver and Green could knock him out cold for a combined 1hr 47 mins, I think that Froch, who schooled Pascal, who schooled Hopkins, coulkd beat shatter that bone china:lol::lol:

RJJ never foguth aggresive fighters though, you should stop listening to everything HBO and RING magazine tell you too.

Social engineering on so many levels:nut:-:)lol:

    Here's my breakdown on this:
Ward- Ward willl try to get dirty here but he'll probably get caught by a big shot or probably lose a 9-3 type of decision.
Dirrell- He is the only one I can see who has the ability to match jones speed but chin and heart is questionable. -jones ko or somehow close ud
Bute- He is too cautious and his chin is questionable at the time- jones mid rd ko
Froch-Come on guys, who didi this guy beat? pascal does not have stamina, abraham is too slow defensive minded.-Jone ko...Froch is just too slow and if he tries to box he would look silly.

the glass that is Roy now was with Roy then, anyone can look magnificent fighting UPS drivers and club bouncers. Roy fought absolutely no one, I tend to not give a **** how good someone looks against mediocre opposition. **** for 25 fights David lemieux was the greatest middleweight of all times. Roy is the most overrated fighter in the history of the sport. This thread was made by a Jones savant and the groupies are bringing it home.

A Prime Roy Jones Jr. vs. Carl Froch would look a lot like RJJ vs. Vinny Pazienza or Floyd Mayweather vs. Arturo Gatti. After about 5 rounds everyone watching would be calling for a stoppage.

Yeah I think RJJ schools all.. but Froch would try to hang in there for some time.. Dirrel could make it interesting simply based on styles... I feel Ward wouldn't do so great.. IMO

Ward would probably look like Reggie Johnson did against RJJ.

But Bute? Unless he landed something big in the beginning to get RJJ's respect, I don't think he would have had a good night either. Bute is awfully tall and has a long neck and that head would be a big target. Couple that with a prime RJJ's speed and pin point accuracy, it could get really ugly.

Anyone of them can last the distance with Roy just like David Telesco, Reggie Johnson, Del Valle, Gomez etc

What has my subscription to Ring Magazine and penchant for swing off Jim Lampley's nuts got to do with this Jones tools Froch 7 days a week and even blindfolded.

If Dirrell can do what he did to Carl I dread to think what Roy would would do didn't you here is the Greatest.

Direll ran ffs, and lost heavily, he feared his glass jaw cracking. RJJ was a terrible defensive fighter, that is Dirrells strong point.

LOL McClennan gave RJJ a pounding in the amateurs, I'd hate to think what a prime FRoch does to RJJ brittle arthritic jaw:lol::rofl:rofl:rofl

Yeah, right. Put Dirrell and Froch in with Ruiz and they are mauled to death in 4 - 5 rounds. Roy never had a chin problem before age 35 and Froch has shorter arms and less power than Hall, who was an entertaining sparring partner for Roy.
