I guess that yes a heavy handed body puncher MIGHT be able to double over Marciano if he was not prepared for it it on unprotected his body, and out of ring with no fear that Marciano is going to punch them back, but within a fight i cannot see it happening.

The first time Kovalev doubled over it was definitely fake on his part, and I don't believe Rocky would fake like that in a million years, but it has nothing to do with durability. The second time was probably fake as well, although I'm not as dead certain as I am about the first time.

When doubled over right before being stopped, I think he was legitimately hurt. But that was after first being hurt by a head shot and then takung a series of crunching, clean blows to the body. Would Rocky be doubled over by something like that? Hard to say because he wasn't taking a beating like that squeezed into some 30 seconds as far as I know, but since he was shorter and stockier than Kovalev it's likely that he would take body shots better.

It has to be said, though, that Kovalev likely would have taken them a bit better as well if he didn't have to make 175 lbs.
