Could we potentially see a different Shane Mosley against Manny?

I always find older fighters to be inconsistent, inconsistent because their bodies dont recover as quickly imo, so they can look like they still have it in one fight, then look terrible in another. Their performances fluctuate due to their physical, which is obviously due to their age imo.

Take Hopkins, he could be accused in recent fights of appearing to look gassed in the later rounds. I mean look at Hopkins against Pavlik, he was lucky the ref did'nt take a point he did that much holding in the latter part of the fight, and it wasn't like it was a grueling pace either. Against Calzaghe, Hopkins looked like he couldn't keep up physically after 4/5 rounds, although Joe adapting also played a part in that imo, but the point is, how he can look like his gassed in these fights, but fight like a go getter against Pascal. Pascal was the one who looked like the 40+ year old against Hopkins, cause Hopkins was consistently bringing it.

Before the Pascal fight Hopkins had looked questionable in beating Jones and Ornelas imo, like he might of lost a step, Ornelas caught him with some shots that you ordinarily wouldn't of thought he would of got caught with, so whilst I thought he'd beat Pascal, those fights did have me thinking, hmm!........... could this be the night? a fast guy, home cooking?

I guess the Taylor fights which were low output fights, could have you thinking, Hopkins did'nt do enough, so why was he so inactive, did he have it physically to do? in order to beat Taylor, was his physical fluctuating attributable to why he lost that fight?

We can reference Mosley against Margo to. Now I always thought the ref and Margo's style supplemented Mosley's win somewhat, but he did turn the clock back momentarily with that performance, cause he'd lost to Cotto, who is an excellent fighter, and he probably only won narrowly in the end due to Cotto's moving in the latter part of the fight, but my point is, I believe Mosley would of beaten Cotto if he was close to him prime. We then had Mosley's terrible showing against Mayorga, where by his timing looked terrible, but then he gets the win over Margo.

My question is, could we see a different Mosley physically to make this fight more interesting? cause as of right now, I think his power, Manny's defense, is his only avenue to win, but he showed against Mayweather and Mora, that the longer the fight goes, the less there is on his punches.

    Thoughts?

Would it be nice to see a different in a good way Shane? Of course.

In short, the only difference in Mosley we'll see vs Pac, is more age.

Imho the fight will probably be a little more exctining that Mosley's 2010 fights, for about 3-4 rounds. After than Manny will completely take over, if he already hasn't, and will probably be the first to Tko Shane, in what will most likely turn into a sad beating for a legend like Mosley.

Mosley isn't going to change, his best chance is to bomb Pacquiao early, particularly to the body, and try to catch him cold. It's not much of a chance though.

Wishful thinking. Mosley is way to old to change now. Pac has a good chance to KO Mosley for the first time.

We can all hope for a good showing but tha will not b the case, the promoter (Bob Arum) and Pacs handlers know that SSM is on the decline, actually he has for awhile now, I'm happy for SSM because he is going to make a good chunk of change and if he is smart that money along, will secure his golden years, but as a fan I'm not, there other fighters, younger and hungrier just like Pac was only a couple of years back, that imo could had been a better and competitive fight, 147-154lbs is full of good fighters, Cotto (no catchweight), Williams, angulo, Powell, Bundrage, Martinez, Berto, Collazo etc..

You could be right. Bernard Hopkins looked like crap and everybody said he was done and then he beats(ties) Pascal.
Mosley can beat Manny the same way he did Collazo, but I doubt it

Shane mosley was definitely suffering from burn out against floyd because of the 2 successive hard training camps he had. But still he is 39 yrs. old.

Mosley's chin is too good. Pac should have KOed Margarito if not for him "showing mercy" or whatever the **** he calls it. Pac couldnt really rock solidly built Clottey, (one of the best defensive welterweights in this era IMO)

I think Mosley will get a severe beating, but won't fall. He's a warrior

I just hope Shane doesn't gas early like by the 3rd round. There's no fun seeing Pac brutalize someone with no stamina.
