I can't help agreeing with the idea that Wilder has held off making a decision about fighting AJ until he, presumably (in his mind), beats Breazeale, and the result of AJ vs Miller is decided. After all, were Miller to do the unthinkable and beat Joshua, well then you'd suddenly be in a very, very different world. Suddenly, without ever needing to face Joshua, the opportunity to fight for the undisputed heavyweight championship of the world would present itself, with it surely being a much easier to fight to make, and with the fight contested by two Americans, in America no doubt. It changes the whole landscape. In the same way that, were Breazeale to upset the odds and beat Wilder, a much simpler path to a unification bout would then exist for Joshua, assuming he beats Miller. He, Joshua, could then potentially be that undisputed champion without needing Wilder. I think this might be why Wilder, who will, in his mind, beat Breazeale, (and as such isn't at risk) has been reluctant to commit to fight Joshua as he wants to see Joshua come through Miller. This would then leave the way clear, as there really is no one either can man fight, with the exception of Tyson Fury, that will appease expectant fans or won't be seen as stalling. There will reach a point at which the excuses and arguments, the lies and misinformation, will cease to cut it and that's when the "boxing world", which until now has been relatively respectful and polite to both men, will have had enough and will start to marginalise or discredit one or both. When I say the "boxing world" i mean the pundits, the sports casters, the Max Kelleeman types, the ex fighters who commentate, such as Roy Jones or Carl Froch, the various media figures and journalists etc... Once the respect of those guys in the larger, boxing family, is lost it is totally different to the casual, or even committed fan. It is your peers, your friends, your idols in some case, and like any profession once they banish you and want little to do with you it can excert real pressure. Anyway, just a thought, and my first thread. Long time lurker, life long boxing fan and did a bit of personal training and sparring as a younger man, and had an uncle who fought as an amateur. I used to love watching the old black and white films of fighters like Tunney, Dempsey, Marciano etc... Anyway, anyone think it's possible Wilder is waiting on AJ vs Miller?
Wilder will be hoping miller beats AJ for this reason however I bet AJ is praying for wilder to beat brezeale. That's the difference between them imo. Wilder would be happy to forget Joshua exists and just keep fighting bums until it's too late
lol...I'd love to know the word they starred out. Did it rhyme with Vape? To clarify, however, a Dodgy Syrup is a toupee, a wig, and one that isn't flattering.
First, Wilder didn't "hold off" fighting anyone. Joshua announced he was fighting miller before the Wilder-Fury rematch was finalized. Then Fury skipped town, fled to ESPN and Arum said Fury needed a couple of easy fights before getting in the ring with Wilder again. That's what happened. Wilder didn't hold off fighting either. In fact, NEITHER DAZN nor ESPN wanted Wilder to fight Fury or Joshua next. If Wilder HAD signed with DAZN, Joshua would've still fought Miller, Fury would've fought TBA, and Wilder still would've fought Breazeale next. So last week's announcement wasn't HOLDING OFF anything. The only thing that happened last week was Wilder chose the network where he was going to defend against Breazeale. That's all. THAT SAID, regarding Miller and Joshua, Miller is a live dog against Joshua. I agree. But if Miller upsets Joshua, there's a rematch clause in place. And Hearn will go to court in order to keep Miller from fighting anyone but Joshua in his first defense. So I highly doubt Wilder and Miller would fight if Miller won. Hearn would block it. In fact, Joshua's mandatories are all coming up. (HE has three.) So, if Miller won, and Hearn enforced the rematch, I could see the orgs start peeling off and stripping Miller like they did when Fury upset Klitschko. Long story short, if Miller upsets Joshua, expect there to be VACANT BELTS up for grabs. And guys like Fury, Whyte, Parker, Usyk and Kownacki to go after those. And Wilder will be sitting on TOP as the LONGTIME CHAMP, and the MOST FAMOUS BOXER in the WORLD. And he'll likely be able to unify some belts WITHOUT DEALING with Hearn. And his new Showtime deal will give him much power, too. Who knows, by this time in 2020, Wilder could have a couple belts, Fury could have picked up one of the vacant belts, and Joshua could have one belt or none. When Klitschko upset Wlad in 2015, who'd have thought Charles Martin and Joseph Parker would've had belts in 2016?
I'd love it if Breazele beat Wilder, thing is though if he sticks his chin out like he did v AJ he's gonna get sparked out.,I've no doubt Breazele will out box Wilder before the inevitable.
What I meant by holding off was more the perception that he could have had the AJ fight agreed (?) and the deal done, definitively, as opposed to what has happened which is nothing has been agreed. Anyway, if you really think he's the "most famous boxer in the world" because a biased claim by American media told you so, then you clearly don't get out much. Wilder is a chump, a pest, with no class and the brain of a child. Seeing Breazeale knock him out will be the best thing to happen to boxing in years. I understand you won't like that, but don't cry about it.
Breazeale isn't going to knock out Wilder. But I could see Miller pulling a "Bonecrusher Smith vs Frank Bruno" and losing most of the rounds against Joshua before catching him late when Joshua starts to coast.
And if Joshua gets dropped in New York against a New Yorker, Joshua isn't going to get 19 seconds to walk around and clear his head and show the ref he's okay before the fight continues, like Fury did.
Ahhhhh...was that for me...and talking of dumb names, yours is apt. In future, however butthurt you get, ry to stay calm; it's not about you.
Wow, you can see into the future . Lottery numbers? Or are you just delusional and arrogant? Bit like Wilder...no wonder you are head over heels.
