See, I believe Wilder could be what he thinks he is if only he listened to his trainers. He totally has that physique to do it; like a heavyweight Tommy Hearns. But he's gotten away with beating old men and bums for so long that he's come to believe that footwork, a jab, setting punches up and all the other nuances of boxing are 'optional extras'. He seems to think that just cause he has a supercharged big-block chevy under the hood (his missile of a right hand) that his Cadillac is going to beat a Ferrari around the track. Uh, no.

Unless he actually accepts that there's more to boxing than hitting hard, Fury is going to mallet him a third time.

I think it has become quite obvious Wilder will not change anything about his gameplan. The man believes he has a god-given right hand that destroys everything it touches and so be it. There are some things he could do better though, like not come in too light (first fight), too heavy (second fight) and not haul unnecessary gimp equipment on his way to the ring.

If he heals up and gets back his mental edge I'd say he at least has a shot. Of course Fury should be the favorite, but if he takes him lightly (a big possibility) and Wilder is back to form (less of a possibility) anything could happen.

The talk of Wilder looking scared in the rematch is foolish. After taking that right hand behind the ear he was effectively done. His equilibrium was shot for the rest of the fight, making him easy pickings for Fury. He had no legs, and thus no real ability to generate power. Still, he never gave in. I thought it was a hell of a show of heart.

That's all best case scenario for Wilder, though. Fury is and should be the major favorite.

He has got a punchers chance and that’s about it . The second fight was so emphatic it’s difficult to make a case for him

He can hurt Fury, we’ve seen that.
He can’t box him though or fight back when Fury goes after him, it’s highly unlikely he’ll beat him.

I’m torn between thinking Wilder is mentally destroyed after the second fight but then wondering if he’s too stupid to realise he’s mentally destroyed and consequently full of false confidence... either way Fury repeats his previous performance but I think that this time he gets badly wobbled once in the process.

Exactly this. Wilder no doubt will be filled with confidence by his team, and his own ego.
The problem though is if/when Fury pushes him back & dominates, the memories will come flooding back of the last fight. I do worry for Wilder.

I like Wilder and i'd really like to see him prove everyone wrong, but he got hammered pretty bad in that 2nd fight. I think he has a chance, based on his performance in the 1st fight, but ultimately he needs a much stronger gameplan.
