Could Wilder have been an all time great at cruiserweight?

You think they'd be a favored over Wilder? I can go for Usyk but even that's 50/50 or 60/40 but the others along with any other cruiserweight would be significant underdogs against Wilder.

How do people STILL not understand how weight cutting works. The fact that Wilder is lean or has skinny legs has little to nothing to do with weight cutting. Of course he could make 200.

    He'd never beat Usyk.

I don't see how Wilder couldn't have made 200. The guy is 37 years old and is weighing 214 getting all his meals, drinking all his fluids and doing absolutely zero weight cutting.

Think he'd make 200 for sure, despite him looking like there's not much to cut lop.

As for being an ATG there, I think it's hard to argue against. Only person I'd really favor over him there would be Usyk, assuming the weight cut didn't significantly diminish Wilders qualities.

So I would agree to this.

They just don't understand crusierweight level....the magic blend of speed and power that happens to a man's body when he is naturally at that 200 pound range.

I'd give Gassiev a chance too. He certainly did better against Dorticos, Lebedev and Wlodarczyk than Wilder did against Szpilka, Molina and Duhaupas.

Yeah CW Level is the real litmus test for HWs. Hence why so few HWs are prepared to step up to it

Title holder most likely, but his tenure as champion would have been cut much shorter than what it was at HW. Probably would have inflicted some serious brain damage before he was exposed.

Briedis sparked a 250lb Diamond Boy out cold on his face with a single devastating uppercut, none of the HWs Diamond Boy has fought could do that to him including Sasha Povetkin who has been one of the division's premier KO artists of the last 20 years and has one of the best HW KO HL reels during that time too. Vitali couldn't do Diamond Boy like that either

But Gassiev is the best answer. Sure Fury and AJ are way bigger and heavier than him but I wouldn't be surprised if shot for shot he hits harder than them. They might have more weight behind the shot but the perfect torque + speed + delivery + savage power might = more single shot KO power. Arreola is on record saying he's the hardest puncher he shared a ring with in sparring and it's hardly a secret he has sparked out numerous top HWs in the gym
