Pretty opposite. If before A.J vs Panda I I had opinion that A.J for sure easily might win Wilder and after Panda I fight had bought this opinion like just bad night for this superstar. Panda II fight showed me that not much better than Panda he is, just ofc not leg lazy and with reach advantage. Now this 39 y.o uncle. No comments, after this fight I started to think, who most likely will win fight if Wilder and A.J had fight in 2021 th. It is big question and only A.J fans doesn't see this big question.
I think Wilder would banjo AJ. I think his outside fighting raid style would be something AJ would struggle against. Wilder is the wrong man to face if you have issues with being smacked around the ears and side of the head. AJ is extremely poor at taking shots to those areas. Based on that, I think Wilder could place himself as the number 2. If the fight against AJ can be made.
If AJ was just standing there to be hit, not throwing back you'd have a point. But chances are AJ KO's Wilder before Wilder can land one of his massively telegraphed right hands. We know Wilder's style, he's very patient waits until his opponent slows enough to land the right hand, it's only against real plodders like Stiverne and Breazeale who can't get out of the way that saw Wilder have success early, also a shot Arreola too but he was tough enough not to be blasted out early. Everyone else, literally everyone else he defended his titles against, Ortiz, Washington, Szpilka, Duhaupas and Molina gave him trouble. Joshua is just a far better a boxer and will see Wilder's right hand coming a mile away and then Wilder will end up doing his, be out boxed and hope my opponent tires enough so I can jump them with the right hand strategy. That might actually work vs AJ who does tire easily but I don't think Wilder has 7-8 rounds to try and KO Joshua, he'll get blasted out way before then.
I understand what you are saying and my post was to highlight that Wilder could beat AJ. Given AJs vulnerability to those side of the head and ear shots, that Wilder specialises in with his style. Ortiz, Washington, Szpilka, Duhaupas and Molina were all stopped. Even Tyson Fury was dropped twice by Wilder in the first fight. Wilder does carry his power late into fights and shouldnt be written off just because Fury pasted him in the rematch
