I still believe Luis Ortiz would beat Wilder. He has much better boxing IQ and skills, he could either way KO Wilder or win decision. I think Wilders foot speed could cause problems, but Ortiz would still win most of the rounds. Soccer holigan outboxed Wilder and he's southpaw like Ortiz.
Not sure how he'd get there tho. He'd need a WBC ranking and make a push for a mandatory ... after Povetkin. Unless, Wilder fights and beats AJ and Ortiz gets a shot at Wilder that way somehow.
wilder has good footspeed and handspeed much morso than ortiz trouble for wilder on offense is that his shots are telegraphed /wide and from way back/ when he steps up this will be a problem / v the opponents he has fought he has got away with it. likewise ortiz / show him movement and he is a plodder / knows what to do / but does not fight on his toes but is flatfooted and has to reset anytime someone gives him an angle. it explains why for 12 years ortiz was not the top cuban amatuer in his weighclass as in that format his compatriots could outmanouver him. as far as i am aware though ortiz was never dropped as an amatuer so in a fight v wilder / wilder is going to have to straighten up his punches/box to a stratergy /go in and out / dont try to unload to much or he will be countered and knocked down / basically box by numbers and by the book and he has the height /speed/length / to win. ortiz has to walk through what wilder does and throw lots of punches . 75/25 wilder to me on his assets /as to what he would actually do could mean the fight is 50/50 spilzka also showed give wilder a bit of movement and he looks like an uncordinated windmill swing and a miss. good fight though and one i would like to see.
