Holy **** N_N is in fine form in this thread lol. To even compare Corrales with Benitez is an absolute joke of epic proportions, and I'm serious here, it's that bad. They aren't close in legacy, skills, best wins... i.e. Diego holds no advantages in that comparison. That said, I like the Corrales win for Floyd, I think it's one of his better wins considering how well he shut him down. However, there's no need to exaggerate the win by in turn comparing him to Benitez in quality. No way no how.

Second, what exactly is Mayweather going to do here? At WW he was far slower than he wa at lower weights. He doesn't have the foot speed to keep this version of Duran off of him. Not happening. Sure he would land lead rights, that is what he does. It wouldn't affect Duran, nor detour him at all. You say you watched the fight recently, well then, check out the Left Hooks (One of his best punches) he hit Duran with flush. Landed solid straight rights. It did next to nothing. SRL power >>> with either shot than May's straight right. Not really even same ballpark. So again, another faulty comparison. To even think May's right would give Duran pause, when Sugar's harder shots didn't; is being disingenuous and you know it.

The reality is, this night, Duran had too much for Money, and there is no shame in that. Duran on his best night, at this weight, is simply better styslistically and plain better than May on his best night. May would find a way for it to be competitive the same way SRL did in the last rounds. However, it would still be a clear Duran win

Leonard fought with amateur-style tactics on that night. He tried to win just by throwing more when faced with adversity. It's exactly what ams do who are trying to rack up points with a round left. The only real difference is he sat on his shots. And he was telegraphing his right hand at times, looping it, and smothering Duran after which put Duran in range. It's not a question of who hit harder; it's a question of accuracy and being a ring general. Every single fighter Floyd fought respected his power. The Benitez fight is staring you in the face if you want to picture Floyd in there.

Re: Benitez's resume. It's clearly better than Corrales' if you count the Duran win. Without that, it's way closer. Corrales has a deep resume. Casa/Freitas/Castillo/Garcia/Manfredy\Gainer is nothing to write off.

Mayeather jr. has all time great ability, no one in their right mind can take that from him. BUT..... I or no one else can rightfully say what he would've done under that kind of pressure Duran used on R.Leonard that night in Montreal. But we can look at these facts and make a very educated guest or opinion. Maywather hasn't fought anyone with the ability of a prime Duran. Most of Maweathers biggest wins have been against past prime, or way past prime/damaged fighters. If Leonard with his speed and POWER couldn't keep Duran off of him, how does Mayweather do it? Sure Leonard fought a undisciplined fight, but even with that he still may have loss, Duran was on fire that night. Even R.Robinson would've caught hell that particular night. Mayweather best win in my opinion was Corrales, but that was at superfeather .... He threw hard combo's then, looked like a a.t.g also had real pop in his shots. But again that was at superfeather . At welter his power is maybe average,,,,,,, at best. So in my opinion in this hypothetical fight Duran comes out as he did against Leonard, quickly realizes unlike Leonard Mayweather absolutely can't hurt him, proceeds to beat the hell out of him stopping him within 10 rds. A very convincing win. That's IF Mayweather would get in the ring with him, or any prime A.T.G, or serious threat without all the advantages being in his favor. And personally by his history I don't think he would've .

Only it's not closer, it's far inferior, which is the point. Benitez outclasses Corrales in every imaginable way. It's really that simple. Resume, skills, ability etc etc all fall to Benitez.

So can call SRL amateurish, but that doesn't change the fact that he landed hard shots on Duran and it didn't detour him at all. So the fact that SRL hits harder than Floyd, and decisively so, means Floyds shots aren't going to detour Duran at all.

First off, it's "deter" not "detour."

I'm not going to do the resume breakdown bc I've done it already. His power at 130 was leagues better than Benitez's.

You're going almost with a religious argument. A comparable matchup with Duran against Benitez is staring you right in the face and you can't see bc Duran was Jesus for one night in Montreal. What "detoured" Duran was when he couldn't hit his opponent clean like in "no mas" and against Benitez.

How is that comparable at all? You think Duran was in the same shape for Benitez as he was for SRL the first time? Is that your stance? If not, then how is that ****ogous to anything?

Obviously, he COULD. Depends on the night he has. But i think Duran wins >50% if they fight 100 times. But to just flat say he COULDNT win is silly.

Even though I think "Montreal Duran" is an exaggerated myth, I would still pick Duran at his best to jam Floyd up with relentless pressure and outscore him. Floyd certainly has the skills and tools to outpoint Duran but I think it's more likely that Duran out works him.
