Could you argue that Roy Jones was the greatest athlete of all time?

In addition to Bo Jackson, Deion Sanders and Jackie Robinson I would add Jim Brown (NFL and LaCrosse), Carl Lewis and Babe Didrickson Zaharias (greatest women athlete ever...Olympic Gold Medalist in track...All-American in basketball and LPGA Hall-of Famer), Herschel Walker (football, track, bobsledding and mixed martial arts).

    All more accomplished than Jones.

jones had no plan B in the ring, he couldn't adapt

jones folded like a lawn chair when faced with adversity

jones had a disgracefull glass jaw

jones is a proven banned anabolic steroid user

don't ever compare jones with real greats like robinson, armstrong, ali and leonard, jones isn't fit to eat they're ****.

MJ is not the greatest athlete of all time, where do people get this **** from.

He couldn't even cut it in baseball, he is a great basketball player though.

Deion and Bo Jackson are the only sportsmen on Roy's level.

  5. fuuuuuck why do people go on and on and on about jones's '' athleticim he was an athlete... a great athlete but theres no way you can say he was the greatest athlete of all time how can you compare his talents to the talents of say a triathlete you just cant.

No one is saying he IS the greatest athlete of all time but based on the level of athleticism he displayed while in his prime along with the fact that he did parlay that athleticism to be an ATG (top 30?), i don't think it's blasphemy to compare him some of the other great athletes of all time. I mean his reflexes, hand speed, foot speed, quickness, etc were just out of this world. Those are traits of raw athleticism.

You guys arent giving the sport of boxing enough credit. You say swimming and cycling involve the whole body and Roy only specific athletic athletic qualities. Well I think thats total bull****, boxing uses everything. When 230 pound John Ruiz is leaning on you all night and trying like hell to take your ****ing head off with a right hand, I think being able to handle that is more impressive than the tasks required in basically every other sport.
