It is just me and did anyone else found the Cotto vs Margarito HBO countdown extremely boring?

I know the fight is going to be awesome as **** but the show was Zzzzzz. It have to be the worst countdown I have ever seen. Both fighters lacks character. Margarito have some interesting parts like his hellious training pace, his brother death, and his relentless pursue to hook up his wife but Cotto was just aweful. He had lame training clips and he is stiff as a board. He made Oscar seem like an exciting guy. At least Oscar have a hot ass wife and scandlous behaviors.

    What did you guys think?

Oh yeah, after watching the show it makes me want to root for Margarito to win.

Probably one of the best Countdowns I've seen. No bull**** smack lines or extra nonsense about helping kid's in hospitals. Just boxing mostly. What did you need, Money May throwing cash around or something?

Some trash talks would be nice. The countdown was suppose to build excitement not decrease it. The things they say are the same thing they have said since when they first signed the fight. I did find FLoyd's countdowns more entertaining. The guy is just crazy, unpredictiable, smart and dumb at the same time.

I understand how you feel. It's just we have all been use to these FLoyd countdowns, which tend to be funny and annoying at the same time. I dont necessarily think the countdowns with Floyd hyped his fights up more. They were just more entertaining b/c watching Floyd be corny as hell was funny.

This countdown was more straight to the point with 2 fighters who (as you said) dont have those same types of personalities. I guess overall, I enjoyed it, but it didnt make me want to see the fight any more than I already do. I get more hyped up watching some of the fan made promos on youtube.

co-sign, or maybe he needed cotto to say "my bodies tearing down on me," and then talk about how his father dont love him..... but nah, serious note... i liked it one of my favorites actually, it was real....

I thought the countdown spelled it out for anyone unfamiliar with the two fighters. It worked very well.

You don't need trash talking to sell REAL fights. Maybe if you are appealing to 15 year olds.

It was good, very insightful esp with regards to the rift between Cotto and his uncle-trainer, and the death of Margarito's bro.

I thought it was good because it seemed more "real" than the other countdowns. it was interesting too see how margarito turned pro at a young age, his brothers death, and how he hooked up with his wife. I also enjoyed how they showed a side of Cotto where he is more relaxed and has fun. I thought it was hilarious when they pulled his pants down and he was trying to choke out the big guy. i actually thought he hurt his leg when the big guy landed on him

You may not like it but that's exactly what sells fights. These two fighters are lacking in personality it's a great matchup for sure but to casual sports fan it lacks.

Wrong! I can't tell you how many casual sports fan said they watched the PBF-Hatton or PBF-Oscar 24/7 and said they tuned in because of the **** PBF was talking and the other crazy **** he was doing.
