Tyson during his Rooney days, a very hard hitting, aggressive counter puncher who then turned into a face first brawler

Oh you ****ing idiot. Marquez had been falling for Manny's head an shoulder feints with jabs most of their fights.

Here is the image from Manny's knockdown of Mosley.

Manny feints Mosley falls for the feint and responds with a jab, Manny drops Mosley with a 1-2 counter.

Now what happened with the KO.

Same sequence repeated but Marquez threw Manny a curve. Manny uses the feint and Marquez feints the jab. Manny falls for the feint and goes for the same 1-2.

Marquez is ready and instead of committing to the jab he steps off, pulls his head off the center-line and loads up on the right.

If he hadn't feinted the jab Manny doesn't throw the 1-2. Its very subtle and you didn't see it because you are stupid.

So we have feint, feint, counter, counter KO.

That is why Marquez has always given Manny problems. Marquez likes to feint Manny's feints.

Dont act like you know **** about boxing!

The KO was feint, feint, counter, counter.

You are just stupid and didn't see the jab faint from Marquez. Yes its subtle but without it Manny doesn't commit to the 1-2.

when did Juan Manuel Marquez become some power puncher ? he has very little power for the weight class he is trying to compete in.

at 126/130 he had legit power, not now

Moving onto the original point now that I have disposed of the worthless piece of **** fan boy.

The issue with the term "counter punchers" is that it really means a guy with sub par power who uses defense and counters to score points and win decisions.

I think of a lighter weight Floyd who was regarded as combination puncher. After the broke his hand and moved up in weight while not carrying his power with him we started referring to him as a counter puncher. Which is just a euphemism for someone who lacks KO power and uses defense and pot slotting to score points and win decisions.

A guy who has power and can counter punch is simply a puncher. Boxing history is full of guys who were great at counter punching but weren't regarded as counter punchers because offensively they had so much more.

A guy moving his lead arm does not constitute a feint. For fukc's sake Marquez was doing that 'rocking back and forth movement' with his left arm the entire fight. It's just how he moves. Still photos or gif, Marquez doesn't make a deliberate action with that left arm leading up to the knockout.

Yes it does. It is the very definition of a feint in high level boxing. This isn't you after a day of drinking lacing up the gloves in your back yard with your drunk fanboy friends. This is elite boxing.

These guys react in tenths of seconds. The moment Marquez left hand moved Manny's brain saw it, processed it, and his body reacted.

Marquez doesn't have to stick his arm all the way out there to get an elite fighter like Manny to see it and react to it.

This level of boxing is far beyond your ability to comprehend.
