Is it possible to counter an overhand right with a liver punch? As in, slip the right from inside, and hit your opponent with a left to the liver?

I've seen it done a couple times over the years. However, most liver shots are delivered as hooks to the body that connect with the area of the liver and down the opponent goes.

I've seen guys duck under the overhand right and pivot while their head is midway between shoulder and waist high on their opponent and let loose with the left hook to the liver. Talk about being wide open for that shot too with your whole side exposed and arm extended.

Of course it's possible, you have to have it already started when they throw it though. Made a dude throw up in sparring like that :D

    Yeah, can be done.

I remember a video of Freddy Roach(for title) where he explained how to roll off the right while simultaneously throw a left to the body/liver.

Seems right up my alley, but I'm a southpaw and it doesn't work for us.
