Freitas is huge in Brazil and there are plenty of MMA guys too who are strikers/former boxers or kickboxers.

That completely isn’t the premise of the thread.

There’s a second Battling Siki who is the only guy repping Aruba.

The guy posted mixed results against the fake Beau Jack, the fake Gavilan, and the fake Kid Chocolate.

I'll have to concede that point about Freitas. I read up on him and his fight with Daniel Attah, IIRC got TV figures of 91m. Should have done my research before posting, there, rather than after (or, better still, instead of posting).

But, as for MMA stars who are former boxers, and I'll have to take your word for this as I know nothing about MMA, that's kind of the point. They had to switch sports to be stars. That lack of mainstream fanbase means that it will be hard to be a star in the sport due to the reasons I stated earlier - lack of gyms, trainers, sparring, opponents, finances, exposure. If boxing had the pulling power, you'd expect a country the size of Brazil with its perfect conditions for making great fighters to have produced more than Jofre, Freitas and, ahem, Jose Adilson Rodriguez.

Anderson Silva is the big one. He did box professionally for a few fights, but made his name in MMA.
