Btw , this couture /nog poster is awesome !
    http://www.youtube.com/user/doliveij
the guy used it as his wallpaper..i don't know where he took it (or if he made it himself)..but the retro-look is great imo.

Anyway , i'm personally predicting Couture to win by UD.

    For a bunch of reasons...

    1 - Nogueira looked like **** against Mir....which
2 - confirms the judgements i had as soon as i saw his 3rd fight against Heath Herring...

He looked like **** in both...Almost got koed out cold by herring too. (a guy he owned twice in the past).

Nog's last solid performance was against Josh "the roid" Barnett.

Based on his domination of Barnett , you'd think that he'd easily take care of a guy like Randy...(afterall , Barnett defeated him in his prime)...And Josh is basically a bigger version of randy only with better submissions...

(i know , some wel tell me that mmath is bull**** anyway)...

Still , i'm going with Couture on this one.

Not to mention , the guy was outwrestling Lesnar , and if it wasn't for that ko stoppage...i think he would've grabbed a decision...( Lesnar looked quite fatigued against him)...

I actually think Randy would probably beat Lesnar in a rematch. (that is...if he can avoid the KO )...But even at his age , his gas tank seems to be more reliable..

At this point Randys a better striker and hes a better wrestler of course Nogueira is dangerous on the ground but Randys BJJ game has improved in recent years he was in Gonzagas,Belforts,Ortizs guard and none of them could do jack and lets not forget about Jacare in their grappling match. Couture by UD.

I don't know that Randy is that much better a striker. In the clinch, maybe; but Nogueira seems to have better fundamentals. Mir had a quickness advantage that Nogueira had no chance to overcome at this stage of his career. As I type this, I'm thinking Couture may have a slight speed advantage. Okay, I'll say they're even in striking; and both have a chance to surprise the other here. Then if you add in Randy's striking in the clinch... Okay, I may have to give the edge to Randy. I still say either could win out in this department.

Anyway, I was thinking Couture UD on my way into this thread. I'm sticking with that. Bring on Frank Mir

Frank vs Randy would be a cool fight. Thing is Couture is always in a title fight and hes 46 with just one win im sure he will get it next.

I agree it would be a cool fight, but that is not why I mentioned it. Someone recently posted that the rumor going around is the winner of Couture and Nog would face Mir. Then the winner of that fight would get a title shot.

While Nog might well be shot to hell, Couture is now 46, and must be on a steep decline himself. He can't continue to out-last guys 20 years younger.

Nog by tko, ground strikes, late.

Nog has been through a lot of **** himself, I think he's taken enough beating to be considered a fossil like Randy TBH.

Randy winning the stand up, Nog pulling Guard, Randy in half guard for a long time, Randy ends from half guard.

Avatar bet? I'm in right now. No need to say yes now, and wait for further conformation. If you say yes, I'm in. Winner decides avatar.

I see a fight being there a lot, I don't know what Nog would do from there though. It's a quite possible scenario. I agree with you.

In fighting years Nogueira is about 56. Couture hasnt showned the big signs of being shot like Nog has just look at his last 3 fights 2 beatdowns on 2 top 10 guys at the time and then a damn near even fight with Brock until he got caught behind the ear by a man with about 60 pounds on him. Aside from Nog getting stopped by Mir remember he was damn near KOed agianst Herring and Sylvia and with Herring he basically was KTFO but Herring shows why hes always going to be at that B level the guy has serious weaknesses in his game.

    Jacare dominated Couture.

But yeah, I got Couture winning this. I never thought id pick a guy whos in his mid 40's over a guy whos in his early 30's. But I just think Couture is better at this point in their careers. Noguiera lost to Mir and Mir really isnt that great of a fighter.

Obviously you never rolled in your life and its probablly a for the best your stupid ass doesnt. Jacare never scored any takedowns, any sweeps, never passed a guard or had a dominant postion. He attempted a footlock and an armbar that wasnt even close that wont score you points in a Grappling match. Couture probablly had the most impressive part of the match when he had Jacares back. Domination would have been Jacare winning like 16-0 or actually submitting Couture. Draws arent dominations buddy.
