Couture has ALOT left at this stage then Nog. Nog aged horribly, he has NO reflexes left. Randy wins a clear UD.
Can't look past Couture in this one. Hasn't been bad (though not at his best) in his last few fights whilst Big Nog has looked decidedly shot! Couture TKO ground and pound.
:scaredas:your insane. randy didnt have the power to out wrestle brock. the standup was pretty even till randy got caught on the ear. brock would ground and pound randy out 19 times outta 20 more than likely because he is what randy has always struggled against. big wrestlers who can overpower him. by the way randy by dominant ground and pound stoppage :good
Nah , there were clear moments when Couture was doing slightly better than Lesnar. And it was also clear that Lesnar was fatigued... Whenever both were in the clinch... Lesnar never had 100% advantage even though he was much bigger (and stronger) than Couture. It's a shame that he lost like he did because he could've beaten him simply by outlasting him...Lesnar carries a huge mass of muscle....He usually has no problems with his endurance but only as long as he's able to "lay and pray" or pin his opponent near the cage... Personally i'd still give Couture a slight advantage in a rematch. It's so disappointing how that guy lost. (same thing happened in his rematch against Liddell). At least that's my opinion and i'm sticking to it..(at the moment)..So far , Lesnar hasn't proven me that he's this unstopable beast that most fans think he is.. I haven't seen this...in his fight against Herring. (total domination yes , but then again , fedor did the same years ago and in a way more brutal fashion)/... Haven't seen it in his fight against couture...yes he won...but what happened prior to the KO showed a lot of weaknesses. His win against Mir is the only one i will not criticize. He did a flawless job in that one...(plus , it was brutal too)... Having said that , Mir always ends up losing as soon as he's force to deal with extreme pressure. (see his fight against Ian Freeman..or even Vera) Lesnar is legit but very beatable. (all fighters are anyway , including fedor). Btw , i agree with you on the fact that Randy has always struggled against Bigger wrestlers. But i still maintain that he was doing quite good against Lesnar (before the ko). After seeing this fight , i think the key to defeat a guy like lesnar is to simply tire him out. or submit him. The only guys i can see submitting him are Fedor & Barnett...(maybe prime nog but he's done...) There's of course always a possibility to KO him.. Unfortunately there's not many top strikers to get the job done. There's Kongo but he's absolutely worthless on the ground and his sprawl is crap. There's crocop but he's a shadow of his former self. (i won't change my tune as long as he hasn't proven the contrary...It'll be interesting to see what happens in his next fight).. So , who could outlast lesnar ? Nogueira and velasquez... But Velasquez is too small...But he's very persistant and courageous and has a solid gastank...so who knows. Carwin is interesting too... Right now , ufc's hw division is starting to get interesting...(just a shame that fedor isn't a part of it). I hope Aleks will get signed soon.
If Big Nog was a dog he'd be in dog years at least 80 years old. The guys so old physically he's spitting dust. This bout is pointless and means squat. Both men should have retired years ago. Tell you one thing its amazing to see the state Nog is in now. I remember his fresh face in PRIDE. You could actually see his eyes then. Now the scar tissue is practically covering them up and he looks like a 50 year old man going through the motions.. Very sad... PRIDE's first dominant heavyweight champ..
couture tko 2nd round,i just have the feeling that this will be beatdown on nog.....but i hope im wrong and it turns out to be a good fight.either way it goes neither of them have anything to offer to beat brock, couture had his best chance in the 1st fight and nog would just get the mir treatment from lesnar
I won't be cheering strongly for either guy; they're both so likable and great fighters. I see why Couture is a big favorite. But he struggles so much against bigger guys who are grapplers. I mean he's lost so many fights but just seems to get a pass for whatever reason. Agree that Couture should be favored, mainly on the grounds that Nog looks shot to ****, but still, Randy is not a threatening striker, and that seems to be where Nog is struggling so much later in his career. He's still a force on the ground, as is clear from the fact that even after being in such trouble and looking so horrible vs Sylvia standing, he submitted him as soon ait went to the mat. Couture couldn't finish goofy on the floor. Jeff Monson couldn't. Nog also beat Herring, again after being in the ****, with his ground game. He still has a lot of that. Against a smaller guy who's not a striker, and is 46 years old, I don't see him facing the same problems he has recently.
