Youre right about Olivares and Herrera i meant Olivares and Chucho Castillo.

Ive seen the highlights of the second Herrera vs Martinez but i wont be haply untill i see the full fight specially cause ive heard from people that saw it back in the day and they all say its the best fight they have seen between two mrxican fighters, thats very high praise considering the amount of wars between mexicans in boxing history.

And for someone like me whose fav fight is Barrera vs Morales I when i hear that theres a fight that could be better than that then i have to see it but it will be very hard to get but i will not stop trying to get it.

Emmanuel Augustus is my favorite .500 fighter. One of the better people in it too.

I saw a three minute clip from Olivares-Castillo III years ago. I speak regularly with a friend who’s very, very close to Ruben from way back and he says that’s all he’s seen too.

The greatest fight no one saw: Slammin' Sammy NeSmith making the miracle come-from-behind KO shot to stop Ronnie Harris to win the NABF Title in Indianapolis. You had to see it to believe it and few did.

I heard that Soo-Hwan Hong is most popular boxer in South Korea and his win over Carrasquilla is the most famous boxing moment... But how many truly would?

Correct. Hong is the most popular Korean fighter ever for multiple reasons. First, his fights were exciting, as demonstrated by the aforementioned Carrasquilla fight. Second, he was the first Korean fighter who really had a lot of title fights and was a major player in the world scene (earlier titlists like Ki-soo Kim were title player only briefly). Third, he had perhaps the most iconic sports moment in Korean history when he blurted out on the phone to his mom: "Mommy, I ate the world title" after beating Taylor for his first title. In an era where Korea was dirt poor and deemed a "basket case," this moment symbolized hopes for upward mobility. Finally, he dated celebrities and married one ultimately.

As an aside, many non-experts in Korea still think Hong is the best Korean boxer ever for those reasons. Everyone in Korea knows who Hong is - though they may not know better fighters such as Chang or Chan-hee Park.

Hong's boxing skills were not inconsiderable though. He was also very well-schooled and had native talent, too. But he was up there with Chang and Chan-hee and Chong-pal Park in terms of work ethic...

I think that was available two decades ago but perhaps not so much now?

Thank you for answer, I also heard that Hong (as a sport minister) tried to reborn korean boxing. Such a great figure in sport
