I can sympathise with where this is coming from, though I don’t ultimately agree with it.

Baer was floored twice before the knockdown and had been hit with enough power punches to knockout the rest of the top nine in the division. There's no question that Baer had received enough punishment before taking the count.

Yeah but he could get up, he didn't want because he was afraid of beating just like Liston was.

Atleast Baer didn't quit on his stool.

He could, but why? He tried slugging, he got out punched. He tried retreating he got hunted down. Anyone can see there was nothing left for Baer to try and his granite chin meant he would get the kind of beating that could end a fighter's career if he got up as many times as he could.
His first fight with Lou Nova proves that he wasn't a coward.

Baer was not a coward but in that Louis fight he quit on his stool and didn't wanted to get up.

Even Dempsey was mad at him for not getting up.

Baer had both hands broken, was outshaped and only that held him against Louis was his very good chin.

Quitting on the stool and quitting on the floor taking a full count are not the same thing.

Was he? Edwin C Hill said that "Dempsey watches over him like a mother hen looks over her wounded chick. Jack looks as sore, as sad, and defeated as if he himself has taken a beating in that ring".
    That doesn't sound mad.

There are no reports of Baer having broken hands for the Louis fight.

    "was outshaped"
Here he is three days before the fight: https://www.gettyimages.co.uk/detai...new-heavyweight-champion-news-photo/515185282

Chopping trees with his manager a month before the fight: https://www.gettyimages.co.uk/detai...is-manager-ancil-hoffman-news-photo/503031421

Him 8 days before the fight (you consider this out of shape): https://www.gettyimages.co.uk/detai...-fighting-stance-after-a-news-photo/515214952

    "Outshaped" isn't a word.

I agree about that, unlike Liston, Baer atleast tried until he was so beaten that refused to get up.

Jack didn't liked thaz Baer was quitting and wanted to beat Baer for quitting.

At the time Baer fought Louis he was already alcoholic, chain smoker and was mentally broken because he killed a man.

    ok

    What do you mean?

He was an alcoholic chain smoker? Damn, that sounds rough. Can you show me the photos? Because he looked in great shape for an alcoholic chain smoker.
Even more impressive that he knocked down and defeated top contender Tommy Farr: https://www.alamy.com/welshman-tomm...end-of-15-rounds-ap-photo-image523173820.html

He killed that man before he defeated Ernie Schaaf, King Levinsky, Les Kennedy, Max Schmeling, Primo Carnera, basically every good fighter he beat in his career, he defeated after the Frankie Campbell fight (the fight where he killed a man).
That was years before the Louis fight, strange time for it to start affecting him.
