But nobody was hurt, how can you stop a fight if nobody is hurt.

Like another guy said on here the ref might as well have stopped the fight before it even begun.

Referee's in the UK need to get their self respect back. That have become too close to promoters. Ref'ing a British or world title fight is a nice little earner and the ref's know that if they cosy up to a promoter they get work. It's how they stay part of the promotions.

I didn't think pulling Mouneimne out in the 12th was necessary either.

I'm saying home fighters never seem to be the victim of these premature stoppages, often the opposite. Why that is, who knows.

I agree, but there is a line and this was absolutely nowhere near it.

This is worse the Maccarinelli stoppage, in the sense the referee jumped in thinking the fighter was hurt when he wasn't, it was a mistake with a fighter that has been KO'd heavy before.

This time the referee actually had time to look at Simpson get up, walk steady legged back to his corner, turn around and look completely ok as he took the remainder of the 8 count.... then wave it off.

He could have let it go on but Simpson was done.

There was a much much worse stoppage last weekend, the guy that started breakdancing after the ref waved it off

Simpson was nowhere near done,he was just getting going if you ask me.

12 round wars are his bread and butter,Tommy Coyle got a get out of jail free card with that **** stoppage.

Name the fight Simpson has been so far behind and came back and won?
Simpson won 1 round out of 7 and put down 3 times so after the 7th he'd have been 8 pts down

Terrible, terrible stoppage, how many times before something is actually done ? Gutted for John, he really has had the worst luck ive seen but onwards and upwards at Superfeather. Took the fight at very short notice at a weight he's never competed in against a solid LW.

I really respect and like John Simpson but the stoppage last night was spot on, John didn't look like himself and there was no way he was going to wear Coyle down because he was blowing hard himself.
Imo John didn't look in his best shape and imo he should stick to fighting at Super feather.
