Ctaig McEwan is an outstanding prospect, but cos hes scottish hes mainly ignored on these shores.
That will change though when he racks up some more wins & the people realise what a talent he is.
Trained by Freddie Roach, spars with Margarito & Hopkins to name but two & handles himself no problem, this kid has the tools to go far.

I couldnt believe it when ITV had the rights to show his last fight but ignored it to show Lee Meager instead:-( Disrespectful ****s.

Very good prospect indeed. Made a brave, but ultimately clever move in relocating to the states early also. Doesn't get any coverage over here because of this probably, but well on his way to reaching the top

I haven´t seen him as a pro yet, but a couple of times as an amateur. He was good basic boxer, but nothing special.

I belive that he has something like 300 amateur fights...

Looked very good in the US when I saw him live. held his hands a little low for my liking, but to be fair he did so from around teh third onwards, by which point he knew the other kid couldnt pose him any problems. Boxed his way to a pts win that night.

Wears a kilt in the ring, never seen that before.

Is probarly the biggest Scottish prospect in years.

he wouldnt be with Freddie roach and DLH if he didnt have something special IMO.

How the **** is it harsh? Think about it newb. McEwan was an outstanding amateur, & is currently an unbeaten prospect who is signed up to Goldenboy promotions.
If he was english, he would be getting MASSIVE coverage over here.

But as he is scottish, ITV decided to put Lee Meager drawing with a journeyman on instead.
& before anyone accuses me of having a chip on my shoulder again(yawn) think about it. McEwan is one of the hottest prospects in world boxing today & he cant even shift Lee Meager on ITV. Its a ****in travesty.

If McEvan would be so special, then why did he not reach the top as an amateur?

Probably more to do with him being US based. Alex Arthur got plenty of hype and coverage by British TV even early on. Scot Harrison was also given lots of coverage.
How much has John Murray been mentioned on TV until very recently? Not every young prospect gets big coverage, and if you are based abroad someone like ITV is far less likely to cover you.

Look at how little Dunne was covered but how much people like Collins, McCullogh and other Irish fighters have been embraced by British TV when they are not even British fighters.

John Duddy is a British well Irish fighter and is on the verge on a world title shot and still has no or very little coverage in the UK so what chance does mcewan have? if he was with FW and fighting bums every 6 weeks with a very padded record (mitchell and matthews) then things would be very different.

    its a disgrace.

McEvan has no power and he is way too easy to hit. Becouse of his huge amateur experience we can´t expect no huge devolopment of him.

    This kid ain´t going anywhere.

Mcewan looks a good prospect. Lets hope we get to see more of him in the future. It is nice to see so many good Scottish prospects coming through at the moment.

Because human fencing doesn't always suit fighters .
Plenty of fighters are just far better suited to the pros and as such achieve little(in comparison) in the amateurs .
