Kenny Anderson, Tony Jeffries (I know he's not Scottish) one of that ilk. A plodder with no athletic ability, as TFFP put it above. Didn't Steward say that Mcewan could go on to beat the GOAT or something? Must have been ****ing around.
A few of our top prospects have very little athletic ability...if you just glimpse at em. Kevin Mitchell, Frankie Gavin, Degale, Macklin, Bellew and a few others do not strike me as atheletes.
True, but some of them have other attributes that atone for their lack of athletic ability. In my opinion, Mcewan is just an average all rounder, nothing more. He doesn't even have decent stamina, looked ****ed in the last fight I saw him in.
Maybe not in apparence but all of them have handspeed. The likes of Mitchell and Gavin have real footspeed too. I'm not sure McEwan does.
Its just a shame ESPN or SKY wont get the finger out and show us more footage from across the water then we wouldnt need to see him fight here to accurately gauge him. I reckon he is decent from what I've seen and he has beaten some decent highly touted opposition. Im sure Freddy roach wouldnt be bothering too much with him if he didnt think he could make it.
On the subject of being athletic I wouldnt have really said Scott Harrison looked the athletic type but he was strong as an ox and had fantastic stamina and went on to win world honours. Looks are decieving sometimes
lay off craig ,half off you dont know the half of it .He wants to fight top fighters ,but a lot of them have said no because they dont fancy his style .Alfredo angulo was offerd the fight only for his camp to knock it back .same goes for erisnady lara to do the same
18-0 against who? his record is padded with nobodies i'll take him seriously once his handlers put him up with a capable operator till then he's another nobody to me One Final thing i saw him fight this journeyman called boone on espn and i thought he was lucky to get away with a decision so i'm not impressed
Brian vera was a good fight .but youve hit the nail there b mentioning his handlers.they have to really start getting him fighting more frequent .
Yep that was my point but dan added to what he said and set it straight. On a different point does anybody else find it odly gratifying when a fighter who is built like a brick shithouse or has majoy athletic abilities gets himself owned by a tubby kid?
