According to boxrec he's fighting a Mexican southpaw with a 9-3 record. http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=86618&cat=boxer Needs a step up in competition soon.
Good to see him, but he definitely does need to start moving up pretty soon. Highlights of the card are on Friday Fight Night following the show. Obviously the two 12-rounders will take up most of the show, but I'd imagine if McEwan is filmed it will be shown.
Seems Craig is fighting Darnell Boone this Saturday night though Boxrec have him against someone else. He has had a problem with his hand and had not thrown a punch for about 3 weeks. However he came through some good sparring on Saturday and has been given the go-ahead by the specialist the Wildcard uses. Craig`s weight is coming down well and he is delighted with his general fitness. Boone is apparently a bit awkward and is reckoned to be better than his record suggests. BTW Craig has been training with Gary Young who tells me he has a bout in LA in July. I`ll keep you posted when I hear more. G.
i thought craig topped a small bill last time that gave me the impression he was being pushed in the right direction this next fight doesnt look like a step up but another step sideways grendal do you have any thoughts on his aims by this time nxt year?
The plan was to have Craig fight Enrique Ornelas and it was supposedly nearly done and dusted but Enrique`s people wouldn`t take it. That`s why this one has been set up at short notice. i see that Enrique is fighting on the same bill. Craig has been told that he`s fighting in mid August and that Goldenboy are looking for a quality opponent. We`ll see. Craig has only sparred a total of four rounds for this bout due to his hand injury, so his preparation has not been great. However his general fitness is better than ever so he is raring to go. Did someone say part of the card is being televised?
