here is my interview i diod with him.please leave any comments and enjoy http://garyreilly.blogspot.com/2009/01/craig-mcewan-looks-forward-to-2009.html
A very exciting prospect indeed. Good that he's staying grounded as well, lets hope he can realise some of that potential!
Boxrec says McEwan is This content is protected on the Margarito-Mosley undercard. Hopefully we get to see it on Setanta :good.
I like Craig, although I have only seen the little that is on youtube. Skilled bloke. But it seems to me that his style is still quite amateurish, at times at least. But Roach should be more than capable of working that out of him. I'd like to see him Setanta soon.
my trainer says he saw him at a show in Fraserburgh and he was only early 20s and he had 150 odd fights also said when he trained with him he was lazy but was real fit because he was fighting all the time (sure roach has sorted hiom out) from what i have saw probably scottish boxings best prospect
the interview is now featuringon seconds out!!!:good http://www.secondsout.com/interviews/index.cfm?ccs=528&cs=52256
Craig was told a couple of days ago that he is fighting Ivan Stovell on the 24th but I have no more details. He has been working hard over the holiday period at his dad`s gym at Clovenstone (well, as hard as 2 trans~Atlantic flights, a Scottish New Year, Hibs getting knocked out the cup, a four month old son`s sleeping patterns and an "assertive" new wife will allow!) and is desparate for this one. He gets back to LA on the 13th and wants to start sparring right away , something he has had little of in Edinburgh. Frankly, I think that his preparation is not perfect but after last year`s call offs he is desparate to fight and he has told Freddy Roach he is happy to step back up to 162 to ensure Stovell gets down to an acceptable weight. Remember, Boxrec rate Stovell higher at super middleweight than they do Craig at middleweight so he can`t be accused of hiding. A few people back home have commented about the lack of publicity he is getting, our own Garry Reilly and the Evening News`Brian Donald being the only ones in Britain to pay him any attention, but Craig is happy to stay "under the radar" just now. I predict , however, that this will be a big year for him. There are hints that GBP want him to fight again in February and then late March/early April which suggests upping the quality of his opposition sooner rather than later. However Craig`s attitude will be "Stovell first". When I hear more, you`ll be the first to know. Garry, you`ve got his number, keep in touch. I know he appreciates your attention.
