Hearing that Craig has linked up with Dibella and will be looking for a decent fight in America later in the year, likely a couple in Britain between now and then though. Hearing Hearn wants to make the Lee fight but 1 more defeat and it's likely all over for Craig so he's got to pick his match-ups very carefully and without a meaningful fight in about 18 months I'm not sure that's the way to go. As for the poor defeat in Prizefighter(which he won imo) he hadn't ate in 3 days prior dropping to LMW and was apparently in a really really bad way, would explain why he looked gassed after a couple rounds......somehow he ended up 4lbs under the limit though which is crazy. Hoping he gets a few decent fights in the next few years, always in good scraps and shows amazing amount of heart. One last run :happy
I thought Lee was with DiBella also. Are you suggesting Lee has now signed with Hearn or is some sort of co-promotion between Hearn and DiBella? Reason I ask is that Hearn and DiBella seem to be on good terms to say the least!
Lee is still with Dibella but looks like his next couple fights are over here with Hearn, not too sure of how they're working it exactly mate.
Broony that is nonsense not eating 3 days beforehand and John McCarron (coach) would verify that,Craig was offered BJS and said no. He wasn't 4lb under the limited eithier? I think Craig was a excellent fighter but his hearts not in it anymore
It wasn't Craig who gave me the information just to be clear it was someone close to him but no doubt you'd know better so not doubting what you're saying mate. How was he making the weight? What you think about the way he's fighting? I still think someone who was so elusive and hard to hit in the ams(I know it's a diff game in the pros) fighting mostly on the front foot is strange considering he aint a big puncher. Was that something you were trying to change when you were training/managing him?
Don't you think BJS or Andy Lee are meaningful fights? Ps when I managed Craig these were the fights he asked for, however Craig was wanting them yesterday.
Of course they are both meaningful fights, I'm not here blaming you for him not getting big fights, I'm just saying he aint had a meaningful fight for 18 months so fighting Andy Lee now isn't the best idea, needs a fight or 2 first imo.
I think hes on Alex Morrisons Kilmarnock card ... be good for him to get another run out to at least keep him ticking over
very good point billy, but if hes not got anything on the horizon title wise(which im assuming of course) then surely its better to keep him busy rather than sitting waiting ... thats just my opnion . :good
I agree Gary but Craig has been asking for opportunities to whoever listens and has turned down both BJS and Lee why? Beating journeymen over 6 or 8 round isn't going to make Craig a better fighter, IMO he's in the last chance saloon and if he thinks he's still got it take a chance and PROVE IT! I personally think he is getting badly advised by whoever and his head getting filled of nonsense, time will tell. great shame coz he was a very talented man but listens to everyone and generally they haven't a clue about boxing and how it works
