I just read a story on Craig McEwen that he being trained by Gary Young and Rab McEwen and they are now in Mexico for sparring for his fight with Quillin and it states that Young has trained him for three fights before with three wins and this maybe a world title eliminator . So does this mean Gary Young not fighting any more or is it another one off .
i dotn speak for Gary ,just know him . I think if he gets the rigth fight he would ,i know they tried to make a rematch with Mcmillan ,but mcmillan wanted more money ,so that is up in the air. He was due to figth on the meadowbank show last month ,but got injured in sparring so couldent. him and Craig are good pals i think hes just helping out for the moment ,but if he gets the win ... you never know (that is just my opnion ) !
not sure about 3 fights but i know he did most of his training with gary before the perez fight cos i was a water and tape boy for his camp lol
I would think Gary Young would make a very good trainer as he has been taught by some excellent coaches Peter Harrison Billy Nelson . I would wonder though if the right fight was offered would Gary Young take a shot at it again
Cookieluv Gary Young has never been managed by Alex Morrison and from what i been told it was never ever a fight unless McMillan beat McIntyre as what he said was why should he go over old ground when McMillan was shout everyone was cheating and started causing trouble in the Gilmerton area by making statements to Gary Young friends . there doubt its a grudge match but look at all the facts cookieluv McMillian has only had 14 bouts been beaten three draw ONE he what you would call no hopper now and I think the same applies to Young as he not boxing enough . so why is it such a big deal . and for the record I think both said they would not box for 1200 pound over ten rounds
Smith have they got training gear yet and what going to happen about the fight as Craig boots shorts and gown are all missing I believe after speaking to Rab delta airlines just dont care according to Craig missus
Not according to the article in the Edinburgh evening news it states that Rab McEwen and Gary Young are his trainers now this maybe a temp situation only Craig or Billy could really no
Craig and Gary arrived in Mexico City on Thursday but Air France have lost Craigs bag containing all his clothes and all his training gear. However he is so fired up for the Quillin fight that he considers this to be a minor set-back and have manage to scounge, borrow and buy everything they need. Craig and Gary texted me earlier and said the Mexicans at the Romanza gym have been a fantastic help to them. Gary told me that Craig's sparring with Angulo has been superb and that he is in great condition. A few minutes ago he told me that Craig was 30 minutes into a treadmill session and going like a train. I see Quillin is already looking beyond this fight but he writes off Craig at his peril. A week of sparring with Angulo and Marco Reyes will leave the Scot in the best shape of his life. Look out for fireworks on November 5th!
