This card was supposed to feature Oliver William McCall vs. James Douglas Tanksley but that bout fell through a few days ago.

 

Yoelys Leal Molina vs. Jaylen David Jones, 6 rounds @ welterweight

 

Southpaw versus southpaw.

 

KO1 at exactly 0:45 for Molina - crazily enough, the play by play commentator literally said at the opening bell "I'm predicting this ends in 45 seconds".

Says he's about to go buy a lottery ticket.

 

Lmao, they can't stop roasting Jones. Questioning whether he so much as ever sparred a round before tonight, or wandered in from the crowd and got added onto the card last minute by accident.

Kid is 18 and may want to rethink his choice of career - he debuted in February and lost that via 1st round knockout too.

 

Rashad Malik Hicks vs. Terree'on Shantez Hammond, 4 rounds @ light welterweight

 

What an utterly trash swing bout.

18 year old Hicks is 0-2, and 22 year old Hammond is 1-8. Hicks kayoed once, Hammond seven times.

Hicks is southpaw; Hammond orthodox.

Hicks is 5'7"; Hammond is 6'1".

 

Goddamn...maybe I oversold this. My last statement was an insult to all trash, everywhere. This is some bone-curdling technique on display.

 

Kind of figured this would be an early night with McCall off the card. None too pleased they're stretching it out like this.

 

The ring announcer says the co-main event, Fernando Cuza Taquechel vs. Nathan Adam Bedwell, 8 rounds @ heavyweight, was canceled. Maidel Sando (another multi-time Country Box veteran) translates for his friend Taquechel.

Sando claims the opponent got scared and backed out earlier tonight.

Taquechel declines to call anybody out, says it's up to his promoter and his job is to just show up ready and TCOB (maybe a jab at Bedwell?)

 

Weird that Bedwell pussed out like that. He recently made it to round 5 against James McKenzie Witt Morrison, and it isn't like the Cuban he was going to face tonight has that frightening a record - 7-0 (3). He is 6'4", but then so was Morrison.

 

Craig Vans Parker vs. Phillip Deshay Penson, 10 rounds @ heavyweight

 

Okay, so, Penson has only ever been stopped once - and by a good opponent. Here's the deal with that, however - said good opponent was Avtandil Khurtsidze, way down at middleweight, over a decade ago.

He returned from an eight year layoff last month, made his HW debut drawing with some 1-13-1 guy, and is now 0-0-1 in the division.

Something tells me Craig "Pressure" Parker is about to pretty easily go from 19-0 (19) to 20-0 (20).
