Now, why did either Craig Parker vs. Phillip Penson or Evan Holyfield vs. LaTreveon Grant warrant a rematch, you may ask? ("Pressure" Parker easily stopped Penson in one-and-a-half rounds in April on CountryBox 31, and "Yung Holy" blew out Grant in less than 1 last month on the Derevyanchenko vs. Ramos undercard)

This entire card isn't even listed on BoxRec (all they have for today is a card in Kenya that hasn't been updated with results yet, and one in Mexico) so we'll be learning who is who as the undercard moves along.

 

Eleazar Evan Holyfield vs. Latreveon Malik Grant, 6 rounds @ light middleweight

 

Uh...so that wasn't a rematch at all. It was literally just a replay of Holyfield TKO1 Grant from April.

I was suspicious when the commentators were talking about Yung Holy making his comeback from a long layoff after his heart surgery (that kept him out of action from 2023 until his CountryBox debut earlier this year blitzing Grant, followed by a stoppage of Jeremiah Robinson last week) and then the ring emcee introced them with what their then records were - 11-1 and 1-1 respectively. But there was definitely a different country performer that night. I'm so confused.

Are we getting any live boxing tonight, or just live country?

They haven't even edited this in a remotely coherent way. First timers tuning in must have their heads done in. Why not just a word of explanation at the beginning of the broadcast, "we've had some bouts get canceled," (if that's what happened) "so we're going to pad out some time with some past CountryBox highlights!" - okay, cool. Thanks for communicating.

 

They're now showing Savannah Tini vs. Jocelyn Shalaya Shade, another one from April. This went the full six rounds - so time for me to finish dinner / clean up...

 

If this is just going to be all reruns, I'm out. I'll gladly **** away a Tuesday night watching low-level boxing, but rehashes?

I wonder what the live audience at the Troubadour Theatre is seeing, though? Apparently tickets were sold for a CountryBox event at the venue with tonight's date. Is the crowd just watching Kinsey Rose perform sets and then all staring at these replays on a screen in between?
