Just re-watched the fight and have to say that my original thoughts were confirmed...in my eyes Watson won close, but clear.
i had it 117, 113 watson not only did he outjab the guy he outhustled him as well home crowd decision
Watson should have won that. O Donnel could have won that but didn't. He is all style and no substance. Rarily he would open up and look ok but by and large he just posed.
I had Watson winning by 1 rnd. I agree totally with what Claude Abrams said after in that Watson edged it but in a rematch O'Donnell would be more likely to win as he had the worst game plan and could easily alter to make things easier. If he got on his stick he would have made life much much easier but I think it was a case of them both hanging their balls out to prove a point
i'll all for the rematch, but i'm hoping hayemaker steer watson towards a british title shot. he'll give kell brook a proper test.
I had Watson retaining by 3 rounds, dident think it was all that great meself, far too much missing from both fighters. Two lefties allmost allways don't make a good fight.
i thought i must have drunk something funny but theirs a hell of a lot of people with similar outcomes to me of this fight
I had Watson by 2 but it was no robbery. Most of the rounds were very close. I ended up with the same score as Duke Mckenzie but disagreed with quite a few rounds.
I had Watson 3 up after 4 with the 2nd even. then Odonnell tok 5,6, and 7 then Watson 8 and 9 leaving him 2 up with 3 to go and Watson defo won 2 of the last 3. Odonnell had the tools to win but did'nt use them and did'nt deserve the win. The decision stunk in my opinion.
