No problems with the stoppage here.

Saying the stoppage was awful and a joke is OTT.

I was'nt suprised that the fight was stopped at all.

Gomez has had a lot of fight's where he takes tremendous punishment and the ref was thinking about all the other hard fights Gomez had too.

    aww, what a lovely ref.

BOLLOCKS. All this compassionate ref stuff makes me sick, Rozenthal & you are talking like you can read refs minds:lol:

Of course the stoppage had nothing to do with Khans fans & a certain fight promoter shitting himself at ringside...
Oh but thats right, the ref was thinking of all those tough wars Gomez had been in through the years... Would make a great scene for gomez the movie that, Khan hitting Gomez & then the camera flicks to a shot of the ref, & we witness slow motion flashbacks of gomez tough fights before the ref jumps in with Raging Bull theme playing & towel fluttering to the floor....

Get a grip. This is real life! Gomez the movie isnt out till November. "The ref was thinking about all Gomez hard fights before he jumped in" thats a classic, it really is.

Ok, just wathe dthe first 2 rounds. Khan doesnt seem to have a good enough jab to keep his oppenents off i have noticed.

Now i know Gomez is a wessel for the first while of every fight ut he got more joy with Khan than he did in any of his previous fights imo

Khans just another hyped up fighter this side of the water, no disrespect to him or his followers..he has decent skills but will get starched out across the floor if he ever braves in in the top end of world boxing

Chin isnt good enough, Dunne found that out, many fighters do...

His defence is still very poor and his jab isnt effective enough to keep oppenents off...it all makes for a sickening knock out somewhere down the line

I shall back his opposition to win by KO when i feel tey are decent enough to take him, the odds will be good and sooner or later il get it right

He does throw about 10 million fast shots a round, thats a plus i suppose, but then again its hardly even good enough for top european level is it?

Watched the rest of it, you'd expect Gomez to be out on his feet in round 5 with all that bobbing and weeving

Terrible stoppage, it was the first oppertunity that the knobjockey had to save Khan any possible defeat he took. If it were ever in doubt who'd win, the ref sorted it out!

    Hate the ITV com's

Dunky & Strike you are correct!

I was way too caught up in this fight watching it live.

I've just watched it again and the stoppage was indeed BS.

    I'm always doing this.

for me khan will be unfairly pilloried in the press..again...he fought a no win fight here and if anything, made the job harder by allowing his fighters heart to take over from his boxers head.....and is it just me, or was that punch that put him on his arse a ****ing peach????.....the kid showed good recuperative powers, a decent chin for the rest of the fight and a fighters heart and bollocks....gomez surprised me, khan fought the wrong fight..he fought gomez fight, made some basic errors, allowing gomez to lie on him on the ropes and rip in the body shots and upercuts, more than a few of which landed flush on his 'dodgy' chin....

stoppage was a wee bit premature..that said, had the ref stopped the fight in the round before..(or earlier in the stoppage round, cant remeber...) when khan drove gomez back across the ring with a dazzling combination of sharp accurate headshots, each one jolting gomez head back, would we be complaining to much????

the kid has a lot to learn but he proved something to me tonight..he has the will to win and yes, he still has a lot of flaws..but he is fast, accurate and likes a tear up....and after seeing his response to one of the best bodyshots iv seen a fighter stand up and take, anyone who questions khans bottle or heart after this domestic classic needs their head examined.....

    :rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl

Spot on Dunky. I cannot be doing with this idea that the ref in the middle of a fight, is busy weighing up how many tough fights a guy has been in, how old he is, what age is kids are and then deciding whether to let it go on or not.

What you wrote about the slow motion flash backs for ****ing hilarious.

You see, that post brought a tear to my eye, thinking of braveheart Khan fighting adversity and taking huge bombs before coming out on top.

Then I remembered he was fighting a 31 year old SFW midget who never progressed beyond British level.

Get some perspective FFS. Khan says he is ready for a world title fight.
